It’s been a good week with great weather. Lovely blue skies, cold in the mornings but it warms up nicely in the day. I thought this might be of interest. Six of us went out on e-bikes on Tuesday, great ride. The Cube Stereo Hybrid with its 750w battery and Bosch motor has proved to be fantastic around here. In fact Tuesday was one of the few times I’d used it on a flat road. I couldn’t believe how easy it was as most of the time I’m either going up steep gravel tracks or flying down them. We did 68.5km of varying terrain. If you check out the graph the section in the middle is the flat coast road. 1635m of ascent…I slept well.
don't know what came over me but decided to do Richmond on unassisted so 28 miles minimum so far and tempted to go onto Putney.
Today’s ride included a hill I previously was unable to climb but I’ve now done twice since November. Basically I’m training in preparation for the way of the roses, Morecombe to Bridlington in June, day 1 is over 4,000 feet of climbing and includes a hill near Settle that’s looks difficult. I was wondering if there is a way to copy Strava segments onto the same graph so they can be compared?
about 30 miles, semi assisted. Saw a police car chasing a motocross bike near Staines. A lot of my route along towpath wasn't possible due to Thames flooding which was a challenge.
Yesterday I received a pair of Panaracer Gravel Slicks, which I will be fitting after we get back from skiing. A friend who rode LEJOG on his gravel bike last year recommended them. I hope it's dry! I fitted something similar to an old MTB that I used solely for urban riding, as the knobblies where horrible on the tarmac. I use Kenda Komforts now, which offer a good balance of rolling resistance, puncture protection and grip.
I know it’s Yorkshire in June so rain is a real possibility. I can soon put the Pirelli’s back on if the forecast is dire.
