I finally got round to installing the Heed crash bars on my 1260 GT. If anyone is looking for crash bars, I can strongly recommend these. The fit is perfect and the finish is solid. But, with the fog lights, I'm looking at now mounting them from the bars them selves rather than the radiator mount. Hi freshage. I made some of these for the heed bars on my 67 plate multi. Sold the bars on now as I have a 21 multi 1260s.Think I let them go with the bars. Might still have the drawings around somewhere.
Thanks mate, that actually looks like something similar I was drawing up as well. My alternative is a bar mount. But I'll jerry rig your suggestion first to see how it fits.
Hi Freshage, I have recently bought a 1260 GT and am keen to fit crash bars. You posted on here 4-5 months ago so wondering if you are still really pleased with the Heed Crash Bars. You also mention remounting the fog lights, is that just cosmetic or was their positioning affected by the new crash bars? Would appreciate some guidance. Many thanks
Hey, I did indeed fit the HEED crash bars and I am very pleased with the fit, quality and build. As for the fitting it was a doddle with the exception of the fog lights. As of now they are still unmounted as both the crash bars and fog mounts use the radiator mount, so space is tight. I'm hoping a bike lift will arrive soon as this is a job I want to tackle, to see if they can all mount safely. It's a very awkward angle and if you're happy taking the side panel off, it'll make the job a lot easier. I'll post an update once I've tackled the fog lights to see if it's possible without fabrication/alteration and if there is an easy way of mounting without having to become double jointed.
