  1. Extraordinary
Adrift in a big, confusing world and armed with nothing but a bit of hope and a lot of desperation, Jen begins her journey to find her maybe-superpower. In doing so, she might discover the joy of being just kind of ok.

  2. Expats with Nicole Kidman...It's a bit odd, but worth a watch.
Interesting insight re. the master and servant relationship between the very wealthy Hong Kong residents and their help.

  3. Last night on the box, The Minor's strike back in 1984, many buildings in the areas still empty in 2024 from the fallout of job losses and change, within ten years 90% of the coal mines were closed for good.
What a waste of time that was striking for twelve months with no pay etc.

  4. Those 'minors' should be in school, or down t'pit...;)

  6. My brother put me on to a German series that was a hit in the US/UK.. Deutschland 83

Very good series easily missed in 2015, great to see the "other side's" point of view.

  7. Started watching 'One Day' last night. Very enjoyable and a great soundtrack.

  9. Started watching Blackshore....Gave up, same tiresome, worn out narrative.
All the men are unless or lazy and it takes a ballsey woman to solve the case.... Should be grateful it wasn't Disney, it would have have been a trans minority 'female'....

  10. Just watched the film The Outfit (2022 version). A low key thriller starring a very unhurried Mark Rylance that kept me hooked. I enjoyed it.

  11. I was thinking of giving that a go. Is it any good?

  12. I started watching “Fauda”, a Hebrew language Netflix series about a group of Israeli special forces soldiers a few days ago.

    So far, very good.

  13. It’s taken me to towards the end of season one to get into it but yes it’s quite funny :upyeah:

It’s written by and stars Larry David who wrote Seinfeld and it highlights the absurdity of the “Hollywood” lifestyle and it’s “stars”

I’m now halfway through season two :)

  14. I just watched episode one of the new series (24) of Air Crash Investigation - Terror Over the Pacific. It's a remake of one of the early ones, United 811, the 747 whose forward cargo door blew out at about 22,000 ft, out of Honolulu. It ripped a hole about 10ft x 15ft out of the fuselage and took nine passengers with it. I believe this was in '88.

The thing is, corrective action was required and it took the FAA and Boeing two years to get around to it. I hadn't realised that incestuous relationship (whereby they come together and fuck the rest of us) was quite so old.

When the 737Max affair kicked off, I searched high and low for an "If it's Boeing, I ain't going" t-shirt but couldn't find one.

I don't remember the original episode enough to comment on any difference in the re-enactment, but it's worth it for a couple decades CGI advance and HD/widescreen.

  15. The Way
The Way is a three-part British television series, created by James Graham, Michael Sheen and Adam Curtis, with Sheen directing from a Graham script. The series follows the Driscoll family as they attempt to flee the United Kingdom, which has descended into anti-Welsh civil conflict following riots in Port Talbot

  16. watched the lot and worth a look, and S5 has got the go-ahead apparently.
