Hi, for my new projekt, a 999 rebuild in full carbon, i'm surching a BST-Carbonswingarm 1098, Carbotech Carbon valve covers. Can anyone help me to find this parts? Many thanks, Jens
Got a mate who got his 998 down to 161kg... I've yet to have a go...he admits he spent a small fortune. Share the 999 build on here Edit: (Road bike)
The target for my 999 ultralight is a dryweight complett ready for race 140kg or lighter. The Panigale R ,that i have before, have 140kg. 2 weeks ago i pick up a 999F06-engine. This engine is 13,3kg lighter as the standard999-engine. The fork that i have is a CeraCarbon-'Fork. She is 1,5kg lighter as a Standard-Fork.
The BST swingarm weighs 4.3kg. Add the eccentric which is more than 1kg and you're pretty close to the black 999 swingarm (5.6kg) already... Not to mention the steel rear wheel spindle on the single sider. Get a Ti axle for the 999 swingarm and be done with it. Unless this is really about the "look at mee" factor instead of weight
As far as I know the lightest 999 swingarm is the Febur. https://www.ducati.ms/threads/999-febur-swingarm-a-nice-problem-to-have.745532/
Wow, I'm loving that carbon bodywork. Are you able to give me an idea of how much that costs please? TIA Deaks
Here is the link to Tom(Carbon-sigl) Here is the link to Tom(Carbon-Sigl) https://shop.carbon-sigl.com/Ducati-999-Komplettumbau/SW10058 Please ask Tom for the price. The price that i paid i cant say. Because i'm working together with Tom since 12 years. So i have other prices than normal.
I have a hazy memory of a 999 that I saw at the Ducati Meeting at GlenMaye on the Isle of Man, a long time ago, that had a Carbon frame. I'm not sure if it was from Austria or Germany. I guess it was a "one of one". I might have a photo somewhere in the non digital archive, no time to search through that cupboard full right now, but will post here if I do find it.
The carbon valve covers are extremely hard to find. They were a limited production in the early 2000's and given up on as they leaked. I started a thread on MS about them a few years ago: https://www.ducati.ms/threads/cf-valve-covers-749-999.103257/ But your friend at Carbon-Sigl looks like he might have the skills to make some!
