  1. DF2D9718-65DF-4C44-A1A6-92794B498E72.jpeg Got up at 2.30 am. Had a terrible breakfast at the Camden Bar & Kitchen at Stansted airport, I’ll never eat there again. Was rewarded with fantastic views on the landing approach and got that brilliant almost ecstatic feeling of anticipation.

    One of the other passengers was bemoaning the early start and I found myself saying;

‘ Did you see what was out the window on the approach? You’ve got to put the effort in if you want the reward’. It made her husband laugh and one or two of the other passengers understood.Everyone getting off the plane was complaining about the rain in the UK.

Off with the rain jacket, off with the jumper, we were at my brothers place by lunchtime ready for his big birthday bash at the weekend. :yum

  4. Get on a flight out to Malaga, they really are cheap as chips this time of year if you fly at the right time.
It’s easy to book places to stay on booking.com. There’s even a few places you can hire motorbikes from.
The off roading places are really great for a long weekend.

It’s the kind of thing you don’t tend to think of but it really doesn’t cost much and a little break in the sunshine does you a power of good.

  5. Put a deposit down on three old school cast iron radiators to replace the pressed steel’ 80’s style ones currently in situ.
The incoming ones will be more in keeping with the age of the house.

  9. Learned this morning that I’ve fallen foul of my own laziness  If I’d applied to renew my driving licence in November when I had my medical, instead of waiting until after the Christmas period, my application would have gone through without a hitch. I’m told today, my application comes under new rules that came into force in January and I have to jump through a different set of hoops. Now got to wait until my GP gets a letter and she answers an additional suite of questions relating to my cardiac function before a decision is made. Andy

  10. It's a bunch of cover bands touring around the country.......the nearest to me is Tynemouth.

I guess the nearest to you is Leamington Spa?

  15. Got my van back after its MOT, all your talk above of cheap MOT's made me envious but was nearly 700quid this year.

Its a 15 year old transit, with the usual transititis on every wheel arch and panel now but I love it. Longest I have owned any vehicle in my life at 8 years now and its done every track day Ive ever done and loads more besides. All kitted out with creature comforts and all the track gear. Longest I have ever owned a van but started doing hte unthinkable today and checking Autotrader and ebay. Sad day

  16. Are those old relics efficient at heating the house though?

  17. They are new and as efficient as a standard a convector/ radiator I reckon
These will be matching rads I’ve previously installed and I’ve noticed how they retain heat much longer than the pressed steel ones. I’ve chosen old relic style thermostatic valves to accompany them.

  18. I hope you'll paint them dark green.

  19. The aesthetic is definitely nicer, I've seen these with trick paintwork which is arduous to do but...

I imagine "staying warm longer" must mean less efficient, but worth it to get the "hygge" in your home.
