600 Pantah Or Not ?

  1. Gosh , sorry. I didn't know of the Nuke option and certainly didn't know I had posted it.
I can only put it down to fat clumsy fingers on a small key board.
Please ignore it , and is there any way I can remove it

  2. Just managed to remove it ( thank goodness)

  3. Still not sure how I managed it in the first place

  4. Not to worry, all good. I take it you prefer the red and green colour scheme then. So are you buying the bike you first mentioned?

  5. Because it's on the left you probably touched it while scrolling
Few fat fingers on this forum ;)

  6. Both colour schemes look good on the Pantah although the red dose catch my eye.
There's a 93 Monster 900 that I'm also looking at which I think is a better deal (and I always wanted one) yet the Pantah is tugging at my hart strings.
Also my partner, Sue, prefers the more modern (or reliable as she says) stuff.

  7. Aaaah, I see it now. Doh ☝

  8. Red is the best :sunglasses:

  9. Ah, you have fat fingers then too :Hilarious:

  10. Owning a classic bike is indeed appealing. But going back to the days of drum brakes, kickstarting, and 6 volt electrics might be a step too far for many; and classics in the £10K and upwards range might be too expensive for a whim. A nice Pantah at about £4-5K is old enough and rare enough to be interesting, yet modern enough to be practicable.

Monsters from a later era are practical, more readily available, and cheap, but perhaps less interesting and less elegant.

Good luck with your choice, whatever it is.

  11. Aye, my bikes range from 75 to 2015 and although I can still just about manage the kick starts the Italian electrics of the 70's is an acquired taste

  12. Hi there Pete, this is great information.
I am trying to find out also wether ALL 600 Pantahs were fitted with Marzocchi / Paoli forks for Brembo P08, or were some fitted with the smaller P05s as on 500s and TL.
    Thanx

  13. Why don’t you introduce yourself properly in the newbies section too? :)

  14. Good point Toro!

  15. Answers including words like most, usually, probably we can provide. Categorical answers like all or none - not so much.

  19. Hi there Pete, I totally understand! So its a probably answer I guess.
Also on the red and green 600's were the mudguards originally generally in satin black!
Trying to bring the bike back to stock as much as is feasible..
Thanx V much for your help!!

  20. The Pantah I recently restored originally had the Satin Black rear mudguard and red front one.
