  1. Surely a box to sit on is a downgrade?

  4. Another comedy night, this time Peter Kay at the O2. Just before it was due to start, the owners of the 4 empty seats next to us turned up, all with a drink in both hands. They proceeded to talk their way through the first half whilst playing with their phones, despite some polite requests not to.

The interval brought a trip to Customer Services, and as I was complaining to one lady about them, three people from the row in front of them did the same at the other window. Peter Kay had pointed out that there were 10 empty seats in the front row. The five of us got transferred to them. I’m not sure what happened to the lady behind us that kept telling anyone who would listen that someone (other than her, obviously) needed to complain to the stewards. I presume she continued to enjoy their company as she wasn’t moved with us.

I just hope this afternoon’s entertainment doesn’t prove to be a third comedy routine…

  5. BGB's comment noted, I've no idea who Seth Lakeman is, but I'm guessing a fast bowler?

  6. That would be luxurious in the same ballpark as stopping hitting your head against a brick wall is, no?

  7. Ah, I didn’t recognise you without your bike helmet on.

  8. Do you have a heart condition? Or is this something everyone will be faced with when their license expires?

  9. Played squash again for the first time in a year following tendonitis of the shoulder - a real bastard to recover from. (Played for the last 30 years so actually had long term damage). So so pleased to be able to move again. You cannot underestimate the value of a top notch physical therapist and yoga. Phew... it's been a long road. :upyeah:
Ps: aching like a good'un this morning, but there is a satisfaction in the aches :D ...I'll admit counteracted by a strong irish coffee this fine Sunday morning :)

  10. i'm really glad to hear your news M, I bet you still can't believe it? I've had something lingering on my left side that's slowly built up after around six months, and self-doctoring has told me it's repetitive strain or similar so trying not to use it in the way that has aggravated things, but still carefully stretching and exercising. I get the feeling that it would improve more rapidly if somebody told me I couldn't use a mobile phone anymore!

  11. Cheers Chris, it's been...what's the phrase... emotional! I've realised that living with constant pain is an absolute horror... I've flirted with Yoga for such a long time.. until now that it has really shown it's benefits. As with most things you have to accept it is slow steady progress and keep at it. :upyeah:

  14. I take medication to lower my (high) blood pressure. If you want to retain the C1 and D1 categories on your driving licence when you reach 70, there are hoops to jump through. I jumped through them in November last year but new rules for older drivers renewing their licence recently came into force before I submitted my forms. Andy

  17. At 70, I’ve got other issues that do that :joy::joy::joy: I’m a Racesafe marshal for the BSB (and WSBK and MotoGP in the UK) and an IAM Roadsmart Observer so I keep occupied :D Andy
