Apparently someone who ran a youth team approached Stan Bowles and asked him in he would appear at their presentation night. Stan asked if there was a fee? The coach responded no, as they were an amateur youth team. Stan then asked if they could do drinks on the house for the evening, and the coach agreed. He subsequently commented that, in hindsight, paying Stan a fee may have been cheaper. RIP Stan, one of football’s characters and a pleasure to watch.
RIP. Seemed to be doing better recently but maybe he knew the outcome and wanted to make the most of it?
I've been watching the recent series and they referred to his cancer a lot and suggested he was better. Sadly not it seems

RIP Dave. I have watched many of the Hairy Bikers antics over the years and reading their books even got me into cooking!.. it feels like i've lost a friend, even though i never met him, very very sad day.
