See? These are climbing up the walls. Such powerful machines… @St.Evenage , does it still have its original Weber carb?
No thankfully , no awful carb , been replaced by dellorto 41mm carbs..... Yes the tyres although they are dated as made in 2006 they have some grip left !
Ducati only used that carb to sell the bike in USA and california.....imho. They should have sold the bike with the right size sidestand and properly set up to go around corners.
Im guessing your issue is the file size of your photo is too large. I think there’s a file size limit on the photo, it used to be 2Mb iirc but may have changed over the years. Check the file size before you upload it and reduce it to <2mb.
That’s interesting, I never read anything about this before. Could you develop please? Anything about this Weber is fascinating to me. What I read was it was definitely too big for the 750 D2, but pretty handy on the 900. They used to remove the fuel pump (or limit its pressure to 3 psi) to make the Weber work on 750s. On my bike, the Weber works perfectly, from 1500 to 9000 rpm, without skipping a beat. On another note, my beautifuly reconditionned Marzocchi PBS1R shock has been leaking… So I sent it back to the company that refurbed it (a few months ago) to take a look at it. Losing oil had made it totally useless with only spring response, bouncing all around the road, horrible… I decided to try this French suspension manufacturer called EMC, based near Lyon, with a very good reputation, to offer a more modern piece of kit. I purchased the Road 1 for a mere 580€. The difference is simply amazing… Check them out: https://emc-suspensions.fr/en/
And vice versa… Just got stuffed with 53€ worth of custom import taxes on a couple parts bought in the UK. Selling price was £165 inc. shipping. Totally ridiculous… You guys really need to do something about this or people from the continent will stop buying in the UK. Note to self: next time, ask a fellow UK enthusiast to use their mailbox…
Set out to the « great north » today. Traveled from Lyon to Elsàss (Alsace), near Colmar, in one go across Jura (450km). A bit chilly up in the high grounds, but clean dry roads and dry weather. Another fantastic ride with this Supersport. Staying two nights, so tomorrow, riding with a mate in some hopefully empty Vosges all day!
Great top photo, The French countryside looks more tempting to move to every year. How was the new shock.
Had some fun in the Alsace / Vosges countryside over the years. IIRC we did the Ballon d'Alsace road 3 times both ways in one day. No cyclists to be seen either! We were going to do it again but my mates Triumph Sprint started to shred its clutch cable to we had to head up to Triumph Metz to get it swapped over.......
Came back yesterday after a 1200km round trip in 3 days. The odo now shows 16.500km. Sore butt, but so happy with the experience, weather and, most importantly, the bike… Now on to cleaning it, as with the nice weather, bugs are back!
Next trip coming up! This time, it’s for our French Ducati forum annual meet. We’re headed to an area of France called Quercy, somewhere between Cahors and Figeac, where we’ll stay 3 nights and 4 days and ride all around the place. And to get there from the north of Lyon, where I live, I get to ride between Montbrison and Issoire on the D996… How exciting! Getting the Supersport checked up, everything looking fine, she’s ready. I keep marveling at these fairings, unique to the 89-80 900SS model years, in red and white. You’ve gotta love details like the inner silver strip in the letters…
