While commuting into work this morning, a rider with jeans jacket and mini rucksack sailed past in heavy A40 traffic on a Desmosedici! Not really central London commuting material but the noise was enough to make cars get out of the way. How the other half live. Cheers Italianbikelover
I used to get looks riding my 996 from Twickenham to Bank every day. He must get molested at the lights!
Did he say he was commuting? Might be on his way to an extended ride / overseas trip. Who knows. Good luck to the guy - wish it was me!
If you've got it ... not sure about the jeans jacket tho ... bit 70's ... innit Perhaps he keeps his best bikes in the garage - la vita e per vivere
No she went last year, now have an Aprilia V4, don't worry about slinging £50k up the road, just as much fun.
I remember the back to back test with the D16 and Prilla RSV4.. not alot in it! But then the rsv4 was designed to be raced in motogp, oh it is now as a CRT!
Whoever wrote that needs their head examined. Nothing like one another to ride. That's not to say the Aprilia isn't fun. It's just not a D16............and it has a gearbox from a tractor!
Think they've changed something on the box now Derek and the quick shifter negates any issues so far. Having said that I only bought it for a holiday to Europe and then probably sell it on. Had hoped the 1199 would be better, Desmo is OK to commute on, I used mine into my office in Battersea on good days, but the fuel range meant that was two fill ups there and two on the way home, so it's a bit pants for anything other than fun. Your clothes stink from the exhaust fumes caught in the low pressure area behind your back. Still nice to have had one, I'm sure like me you don't regret moving yours on. It's just not a great bike.
In mcn or PB can't remember which! The RSV lapped faster. not that it matters mate  I only buy Practical sportsbike mag now, Fed up with the others and reading group tests etc.
You have an office in Battersea? Also could you nt have used some of the freshening things you sell on your back
too true.. If I had one I dont think you'd be able to keep me off it. ditto mid 90's Bimota Tesi or Honda NR750 (my two dream bikes)
