hello, looking to fit some aftermarket indicators to the front. got em all hooked up and nothing. i hooked them directly to a battery and worked fine. i noticed the duc is producing 4.4v intermittently guessing for the flashes. is that normal? is there anyway to get that to 12v or is it all firmware controlled these days? cheers
Oem indicators are LED and fed from the dash. There’s no relay. I don’t think the dash will drive the 12v lamps.
Hmm shame I guess. I'll have to find ones that are compatible with 4.4v then The existing ones are leds. Just need more juice I guess since they can double as drls
thinking about this, if i want to make these work, ill have to introduce my own relay, that basically switches based off duc indicator wires and provides 12v to the indicators. just need to find the appropriate 12v switched wire around there to tap into. only downside is it's messing quite a bit with a non oem solution and would need two relays to fit behind that cowl.
Interesting. It seems to be the same set up on my Supersport 939 yet, athough the front indicators are LED the rear ones are 12V bulbs. At least they were until I changed them to LED units from a Panagale
Rears are fed from the BBS unit Derek. That has a 12V feed, I'm not sure the Dash does? The panigale units would have a resistance to them so they work off the bat. We're now pretty much on LED tech thru the range, so line voltages and cabling etc. are all getting parr'd down.
I don't like to contradict you Nelly but the 939 rear indicators are definitely fed from the dash according to Ducati's wiring diagram which shows both front and rear connected to the dash and the indicator terminals of the BBS left unconnected. (Their diagram of course may be wrong and it won't be the first time).
My error mate. I was generalising and on the hyper, that doesn’t look to be the case. Never stop learning there’s so much to take in now, without having specific diagrams in front of you, it’s the only way to be on point.
No worries. It's very hard to keep on top of everything all the time and must be especially so from your perspective, dealing with all models from differing years where the changes can sometimes be quite subtle.
