Yes. I think that is right. I was chatting to Sarah Jordan (Steve’s wife, he is doing forks and suspension set up) who races a 675. She said exactly that. But, if one does come along I’m having it.
Ah Sarah and Steve are spot on a guy who lives just down the road from me Tony Scott is also half decent on a trumpet if you need anyone else also
Little bit of tidying up the original heat shield that I replaced with a second hand one earlier in the build. Filled scratches and sprayed matt black. If I fit one for the track (to hide the exhaust side brackets) it will be this one. Probably not in matt black though.
The paint on the heat shield was not tough enough to withstand me bashing it about so I resprayed it this morning and this time lacquered it (matt black paint). I used a satin lacquer for the first time, over the matt black paint. It looks pretty good. You can get a matt lacquer but I fancied trying something different. No pic as yet, but I will post one up if you are interested?
A very very good value Hyperpro RSC arrived vai the bay of Evil plus a less cheap fixing kit. I think it looks great and big benefit is ease of adjustment. I think the gold fork tops go when the K-Tech kit is fitted (9th December - cannot wait) which is a bit of a shame but function over form is the name of this game. Prior to that I scored a genuine Triumph CF shark fin (exactly the same as on my Moto2 765) for £15. I love ebay.
I’ve just reread my own post and obviously forgot to post the pics of the finished bike. So here it is (was)
Not too shabby for a rattle can job. The bike eventually blew its heat exchanger at Snetterton and I got dumped at Nelson. Minor damage to bike was patched up before finding it a new home, making way for a 959
Nah. It’s long gone. And a further D675 went through my ownership since that one. Cracking little bikes but holding their price too well to get another.
Yes looked at some around a Month ago for my Son who’s itching to get out on track. Might just get him a supermoto though as that’s all he’s ever ridden on tarmac and clay. He’s complains that he’s scraping his boots on the ride into school on his 125 Super……. Can get GSXR 600 for reasonable money though,
GSXR 600 much less likely to fail than D675. If you do get him a trumpet for track upgrade the heat exchanger to a billet one as sold by JHS or UK Race Support. Isolates the coolant from the oil.
