Martin had his chance last year and blew it ,looking ahead a satellite team will never win the championship . Pecco to win his 3rd on the bounce .
Yes the old school job apprenticeship has changed a little from the 125 / 250 / 500 stepup format these days.
I think hes learnt the art of consistency you only have to compare his stats over the last 2 years to see that. Whether his heads gone after coming so close last year only time will tell.
Pecco had the grand sum of 7 crashes last year, Jorge 16 and Marquez 29. Thats where it will be won imo.
This is quite cool... Moto2, Pedro Acosta gets license to ride Triumph Street Triple RS 765! | GPone.com (and bejezus the ads on that site are worse than Crash.net so apologies)
Morbidelli’s participation in the first round at Qatar is still in doubt, according to the MotoGP’s web site. He has travelled to Qatar for a crucial medical review at the circuit tomorrow (Thursday). Not sure I share your confidence for a ‘resurgence’ quite yet. Andy
Medically fit, yes but not a chance of being physically fit. He’s got a lot of ground to catch up. Andy
Yeh he's in all sorts of trouble at this stage and thats before you take into account his terrible form from last year and longer. (I just checked and he hasnt had a podium since 2020)
Was it Mir that ‘won’ the championship with was it only one race win? Consistency and staying on the bike, collecting points folks. MM could have had a much better showing, ‘if’….. Martin defo has the speed and talent. His problem is how good the other top riders are. There will be an element of luck required. Any off can result in injury, lost races or lost form. Hoping to see the real Bastianini this year. Four way bet: Basti, Pecco, Digi, Martin.
Totally agree. Tbh I was surprised at him being given one of the (close to) top seats. Based on what? Done nothing for a long time. Add in, Zarco, older, not wanting to throw himself down the road anymore. But collects points for the team in a consistent manner. Clearly a better bet than Frankie I am afraid.
First live TV coverage is up at 10:55am on Discovery+, not sure about Eurosport (soon to be TNT) though. Andy
I think he may actually be faster than Pecco…big statement I know. But he was carrying injury and had not gelled with the bike. No injury now and seems very confident, looks fast, testing figures are good. Game on. Pecco is using his accumulated race craft, very good decision making about when to go, when to hang back. When to just collect points. If we can see Basti and the other main contenders take the game to him, then we should be in for a real treat this year. Who knows, Aprilia or KTM may have more up their sleeve yet. Though I stand by the fact that Ducati have a huge advantage, not just with the pick of riders but with their vast data pool…
