  2. Fek that sounds expensive :astonished: !

    Front tyre. £150
    Battery. £60 ( unless you’ve gone lithium?

So when you say “ some oil “ was there anything else involved???
Where has the other £500 quid gone?

I paid £760 for my 30,000 mile full Desmo service for comparison

  3. Rode to Ducati Manchester to get a recall/upgrade done on the Multistrada.

It failed, several times, so I’ve had to leave it there till they sort it and came home on a Scrambler Nightshift.

Also ordered new tyres in readiness for my Irish trip in April :)

  7. If I am correctly interpreting the bill, you got charged £45 + vat to fit the battery and another £45 + vat to fit the tyre ? Andy

  9. Correct and id even taken the faring off for them to fit the battery (and kindly taped all the bolts to the inside of the faring for them).

    I know.

  10. I think they have really stuck it to you there, £161 quid for a battery is about £100 over what you should be paying?
And by the time you’ve added your vat onto the front tyre that’s cost you about £206 quid!
All the stuff you’ve had done there I would do myself, including fitting the tyres, but then again I am a tight northern git o_O

That lot would have cost me about £300 quid just for parts, cos my own labour is free and I don’t charge myself vat.
I prefer doing my own work anyway because nobody looks after your bike as well as you do yourself :upyeah:

  12. You cant stamp your own service book though can you and ive been trying to keep this one fdsh.
I also dont have the space to work on a bike, mines currently tucked behind the couch lol.

  13. No justification required. If you have a main dealer who you trust (despite the cost), you don’t buy a dog and bark yourself. For me, my time is more valuable than what the dealer charges plus I no longer do spanners, unless it’s not rocket science :joy: Andy

  14. But that's the going rate? C £100/hour?
30 mins to remove wheel, change tyre, balance and refit seems ok in time ?
I do mine myself but that's because I'm tight and the Muppet at Laguna Seca fitted my front tyre back to front, never again

  16. Washed my friend's R1, he emigrated temporarily 10 years ago and I've been looking after it for him, decided it's time to try and start it so off to the garage it's going, luckily local bike place is a Yamaha specialist

  18. Got an early start for a ride out in the morning so been doing my powders. Not sure I’m looking forward to the cold start but I am looking forward to catching up with a few old friends I’ve not seen since before Christmas. Andy
