1260 Fuel Gauge

sounds like the same old fuel sender issue has still not been rectified in all these yrs. Changed mine a couple of yrs back due to this

 

All Italian gauges are liars end of, you’re better with no gauge at all.

 

Think they are up to version 'G" now if you are changing it

 

Just as a tip, modern fuel has high ethanol, which is nasty shit, especially when left over a long period of time sitting. I put this in my tank over winter and I've had no problems (since my first lesson with my 1200S).

having a 1098 I have to either judge by mileage or wait for the orange light then sweat til I find a petrol station!

 

Definitely time for a new fuel sender. Put a new one in mine Oct/Nov.
In the meantime just zero your trip meter every time you fill up.
