Lifting the chair is part of the fun. I used to use it to wave at oncoming solos, just to watch the reaction. I even lifted it over a creeping drivers bonnet as they nosed out of a T junction in front of me once. With a bit of practice I could lift it up to the balance point and ride the bike like a weird solo at slow speeds. The other trick is foot brake turns into parking spots, very dramatic if timed just right. If set up correctly they all have a speed where the bars try to waggle, if its tuned to about 35ish then you pass through that phase quickly. I did have leading links on my first outfit, thanks to Headingham Sidecars wanting to prototype some for a CZ, I doubt they ever sold any commercially as they cost more than the bikes are ever worth. My second outfit I fitted a Squire to a Z750Ltd myself. That was a learning experience getting it to work well.
I tried to buy a bullet sidecar (à la Wallace & Gromit) when the kids were small...to and from primary school.. perfect I thought...shmbo clarified my thinking
I see from your avatar you’re a Dingle. Was offered a go as the chairman back in the 90’s at 3 Sisters, I politely declined.
