ULEZ is the only thing so far, AFAIK, that has defied the normal rule of not being applied retrospectively. All down to that total w*nker Sadiq Khan and his clean air scam. If he really cared about cleaning up the environment he'd address the tyre particulates and the underground.
Sound has nothing to do with it, for me anyway. It’s the release of the mid range torque, eliminating the massive flat spot that makes it a worthwhile upgrade.
It's a CYA process for the dealer. I've rode-in to that same dealer this past summer for the annual inspection, for example - no issues. The one thing that matters is the 2-year warranty still applies even though the Race Ti system w/UpMap was installed. For the record - my state does not have emissions testing for motorcycles, nor does it test for "loud exhaust" like California.
I've been getting "race exhaust systems" added to my bikes but not really for additional power as I don't use what is there already for the most part. I DO WANT (and need) the bike to be as light as possible. It's primarily the reason I spend that sort of cash on an exhaust system. I realize that losing 10 to 15 pounds off my body would be good ( perhaps even great) for my health) but it's so much easier to just open the wallet. Perhaps some enterprising young engineer can come up with a "light-weight" CAT and someone discover a huge deposit of Titanium (so the price drops) and it will be a better world?

I'm not interested in pops and bangs tbh, the only reason I ever get full systems is for the midrange increases. And as I want to keep my warranty, I'm only interested in official systems, so I do wonder what the future is for companies like Akrapovic or Termignoni, as their days must surely be numbered, with all this bollocks going on??
I have five of these turkeys living within a 1/4 mile radius of my house, as far as I’m concerned their demise cannot come a day too soon. Andy
From the article "More specifically, the DVSA says “carried out alterations to a car to remove the catalytic converter and applied modified software to the engine control unit to increase noise levels”. Not one single exhaust is fitted and mapped to make it quieter!

actually can only think someone's "circumstances have changed". you don't spend that sort of money and stick all those bits and pieces on it if you are speculating
So unless you’re last name is Rossi or McGuinness it’s total vanity. I might not like it like many but Volvo has seen the future. Max speed 112mph all cars
Can't see how the parts listed suddenly make a £32k bike £40k. I mean its desirable, but people can have one before the year is out currently.
Exactly. And it’s a used bike, even though it’s only done 100 miles. What happened in those 100 miles, the next owner will never know…..
You could buy a Pikes Peak V4 Multi AND a 698 Hypermotard and still have some left over for the price of that.
did you make him an offer @Multirider75? weird advert, looks like it was written by an AI bot or someone who knows nowt about bikes. curious
