What a brilliant bike to ride, has a lot more rider aids than does the GG. Only rode it in road mode. I didn’t have time to piss about with the setting Stoke to Aberdyfi and back is no mean feat, with fuel and meal breaks. The bodywork and the finish are superior as is the switchgear The suspension is excellent doesn’t dive like a Stuka as my GG does. It handles very similar to my KTM 790 very sharpe and precise. The quick shifter/blipper is better than the GG offering by a country Mile. The front brake is way superior you they’re less wooden than my GG fronts. The fuelling is better it pulls better in 5/6 at lower speeds my GG doesn’t pull anywhere near as well between 40/50. Which is odd as on YouTube they state the LC8 engine has more torque low down, it doesn’t feel it maybe Ducati have geared it better. Neither bikes are comfortable for all day riding but they are bearable, but then having cycled on razor blade saddles in the past it isn’t so bad as that. The handlebar positions are very different higher on the hyper than my SM. The wind protection such as it is is better on the hyper than the SM. Hyper sounds better too on over run. I would buy one if I was in a position to which doesn’t look likely at this moment. PS Should you test ride one when the Yellow light illuminates you only have 15 miles until to need to push it 1 Mile to the fuel stop. From bone dry to fill is 11 litres, update 12 litres is fuel tank capacity I couldn’t have filled it right the way up. Petrol is cheaper in certain towns in Wales/Shropshire.

They aren’t as yet available, USA has them first. 60 days was quoted to me for when the first ones will appear unless he meant from date of order.
Fair enough I’ve mostly dealt with dealers in Stoke as I like Clayheads always found them to be nice people. That was going to be my original dealer but Stoke is closer and I know how to get into mid Wales quicker than is the case from Cov. I don’t know Warwickshire that well and thought it a better test on familiar roads. A53/A41 then cut across through Shifnal/Craven Arms/Clun/Newtown/Llanidloes/Aberdyfi/Welshpool/Shrewsbury/Stoke. A good mix of A & B roads what a blast 6 hours of fun.
This looks like it would be huge fun. In fairness, how often would the new model of a bike perform worse than the model it is replacing? If that happened then the manufacturer would have made a complete balls-up… It shouldn’t be a surprise when a journalist says the new model is better than the previous model - it should be!
I agree but its the "overegging" of how bad the previous model was....now they dont all do it - some are more subtle (im sure they want to be invited out) on next years model release....as i said before its my opinion but most are now glorified salesmen... Ironically i was subject of (at the time) the BMW S1000r - i read all the reviews, watched all the videos and was set to buy one...the only test ride ive every had in my life and, since i might add...i thought it was awful...ive said it before on here...in 30+ years of riding bikes no matter what ive ridden ive got off and had a feeling...that was shit, good, bad, great, amazing etc etc....got off the S1000r and felt absolutely nothing....didnt even look behind at it when i left it in the car part to return the keys....bought my z1000gen4 which ironically i think at the time every journo, either hated, thought it was a meh bike etc etc...its the best bike ive ever owned. Period. That being said this is a completely new model so its an unknown quantity....put a pin in this and see what they say about next years model....
Don’t get me wrong, I do understand where you are coming from. I have three bikes at the moment and I bought all of them without having ridden them before, based on what I had read online. I’ve been exceptionally happy with all of them. Then again, only one of them was relatively cheap and so I bloody well should be pleased with them.
It’s the Euro 5 models that are at the back of the line. As you’re aware the US has differing standards from Europe. I’m not sure it’s specific to the UK.
