  1. Correct. My error in saying anodise in yellow passivate. I of course meant plate in the same. Original post edited to avoid confusion. It’s already been a long day ;)

  4. I personally tighten the two bolts that attach the tank front spigot with red loctite. It is absolutely out of the question that one of these gets ingested by the engine.

    Not happening !

  5. Those bolts are tight, I noticed when I cleaned the bike that the front of the tank moved, it was suggested that it may be a bolt missing from the front spigot, upon checking today, I noticed that the spigot is tight, no movement whatsoever, but, the rubber grommet is missing from where the spigot fits in to

Current state of my new acquisition :joy:

  6. The thing is, as you tighten them on the tank thin sheet metal, you can never tighten them enough. I mean you can but that may not end well. Hence red loctite.

I read that in Snyders’ book and since then, follow his advice on it.

  9. A new bike has arrived in my possession to sort out. About time I had ownership of one of, if not the, most beautiful bikes ever made (again).
Looking forward to sorting it over the coming months.

  10. What a joyous moment…..:)

  11. Correct. It’s a humble BIP but who knows where it will end up. I couldn’t sleep last night from excitement (bit weird as I just got a new street triple two weeks ago and didn’t flinch at that).

  19. Hmm. Here’s a few for you. Pretty revolting.
Anyone know of a good supplier of submersible fuel lines, new pump and filter?

  20. Eek. Geoff Baines (Silverstone) is a very good source of advice and parts for these bikes.
