It looks just a LTD edition release paint job to me. There more specs on the helmet than the motorcycle.
It's a Fashion brand. Made me chuckle when I first saw this out in Malaysia I think. The brand is the same name as my company. I did try and expense one, but got told this is not tax deductable
Apparently I’m sufficiently enough of a “Top Ducatisti” in Ducati’s eyes to be invited to buy one of these but not sufficiently enough of a “Top Ducatisti” when it comes to the SP2 30th anniversary 916, where my invitation to buy was withdrawn Andy
I’d have thought the people who are big fans of that brand are more likely to steal motorbikes than buy expensive ones.
And I always thought that "Supreme" was something you got with chicken at the Chinese... I'm going to wait until Ducati put this "Supreme" bike out in a Foggy replica, with Ohlins & as an SPS & R...
we can't be far far away from dealers inviting you to have your own name plastered across your brand-new bike.
i remember a certain lady with a 996.. always wanted one of these :- ..and don't ask me who she is, i didn't live next door to her etc.
Another "Special"? It's the huge price hike that irks me, for what is essentially a stock bike with a paint scheme. I fear Ducati's marketing department are really clutching at straws now. Then again, they still seem to sell them. What I don't understand is why buy one, when for a fraction of the cost, you could very easily replicate it using a reputable paint shop on a stock bike. If a potential buyer sees this as "investible" then they are deluded. Only recently the Lambo Streetfighter was selling for $150K in the US, now prices have tumbled to $70-$80K. Even Jaret CampCheesy has already dropped the price of his one by $25K. Prices are always apt to fluctuate but there are few bikes that are a sound investment anyway save for perhaps an original low mileage 916SPS, Desmosedici RR, Supermono or an ex-works bike. I find "collaboration" a bit of a stretch, as it's nothing more than a licencing exercise, as opposed to any actual technical input from the likes of Bentley or Lamborghini, no more so than if Lamborghini brought out a Ducati "Special Edition" Murchelago, and imagining Borgo Panigale had a hand in the engineering of it. Thankfully it is never gonna happen anytime soon. If they were to do anything as a sweetener, I would prefer it if the factory perhaps went down the Monster/Scrambler route, whereby you could choose from a palette of quickly interchangeable coloured panels, you wanted your bike delivered in, and thereby have the ability to easily swap them out when you fancied a change. Their "Unica" service is bespoke but comes at a very hefty cost, which is out of the reach of most of their customers, so these seemingly frequent offerings from Ducati, they perhaps feel fill that void, if someone is in the market for a "different" bike.
Anyone with a V4 could always slap these on instead. https://vulturbike.com/en/3400-original-dp-fairing-set-customized-for-ducati-panigale-v4-model.html
Buying a 'factory custom' bling machine seems to be the easier/safer option for most people, and it means that there's some degree of legitimacy, traceability, etc. Individually customising a standard bike requires creativity and skill, and is always regarded as somewhat dodgy/risky because it's a one-off.
Parts bin specials has been MV’s business model for years and they’ve done alright out of it…………oh hang on
