I quite fancy a little track run around like yours mmmmm..... I am also thinking of getting some stickers made for the "touring" bike that say "NO racing"
Get along on a trackday and you can try it Its mental mind...will be going on Hampshire M/c dyno when I can arrange, make sure all set up and see how its running...it drinks fuel! Got a sticker to go on it...dufuckingcati
Think I may have upset a ZX6 rider last night, was bimbling home, in urban, overtook him and large group of bikes, plod going other way then see lights coming up a bit quick so back off let him pass just in case...was ZX blokey so shot past again to ride at a comfy pace, was going up to the Hill but road closed so detoured via the wickham-tichfield road, caught him AGAIN and he waved me past so sport mode and fecked off. Reckon he thought I was doing i on purpose...but the lamps are awesome too!! Most disappointing...
Btw not bragging or riding god before the sneers start...more how simple this thing is to ride and great in the dark.
Re fuel mpg. In 'Sport' mode all the time. Last two - 2 up long weekends away with 'Bird' on t' back with all boxes on, gives a tank range of 210 miles now it's run in at 20,000 on the soon to be replaced clocks. 'Urban' mode lowers that mpg figure quite a bit. Having a pillion doesn't seem to though!!!!!!
Another 200+ disappointing ,miles today. Nothing fell off. Touring mode was precise. Behaved impeccably. Damn
Take it out of sport mode or you'll never get on the "Spotted" forum. I didn't get seen until I was in Urban mode.
Actually Fig, I think it looks alright, far better than the earlier version, which I had one of, and a darn sight more comfy! The cone and twin headlights work aesthetically from front or side
I liked the way it rode, and loved how it wheelied so easily off the throttle, but comfort and looks were not in its favour...nor ground clearance as I scraped everything often on the road
I have to admit to a tinge of jealousy, I'd love one. But I'd love it even more if Ducati had made it more of a road bike and less of a faux 'adventure' thingy.
You ridden one? Go try it. IMHO it has everything the old one has (minus a little low end punch but mines not run in yet ) expect it can keep up with a sports bike at 150+ and feels a little more planted at high speed (3 figs) sweepers although I dont know why
I'm not doubting it's credentials, I know they're good. Still looks gopping though, as do all adventure bikes. Owning an adventure bike is like shagging Jordan; great in the sack, but you wouldn't want to be seen in daylight with it...
