1980 Bevel Forks

  1. Can anyone give me tips on getting the correct finish on the yokes and fork sliders on a 1980 900ss please.

  2. On my Darmah the yokes are the same (paint) as the frame... but the fork bottoms are polished to an inch of their lives.

So does the SS have the black fork bottoms with matching yokes?

  3. Any good?

  4. Cheers, but the original paint was satin black with a textured finish as if it was dusted with sand before it had dried and the painted again. Maybe it was :joy::joy:
Or the spray nozzle was a bit blocked

  5. just for your info
this is a 900SS straight from the crate

  6. Cheers. My forks had never been touched so looked exactly like the first picture.
I will experiment with stuff in your link to see how I get on.

  7. I had wheels and callipers done at the same time.

  8. @Paddy Barratt , finally got around to doing my fork legs and yokes using the texture coat you suggested. It's come out pretty good and a close match I think to the original finish. I have used gloss rather than satin, and it has actually dried to satin anyway, so thanks again
