Has anyone noticed the flapper valve is open at start up (when it should be shut to help noise tests) and then at around 3200rpm it shuts when cruising or going down hill and only opens after you open the throttle some way which causes it to suddenly open and lurch forward! not good and is a fault. Going to try disconnecting the cables and see if it puts up a fault on the dash.
I have low speed fuelling issues as it bogs down when cruising in town. I'm not technically minded when it comes to these things. I am riding one with full system Tom. Dealer said it takes a while foe ecu etc to work things out??? What ever that means. I've done about 900 miles on min
I can disable the 02 sensors which is the main issue but i will need a bike for a day to find how to disable the flapper. I have a space free tomorrow morning at 9am in bristol if anyone wants to bring me a bike
I have a Multistrada 1200ST Bought new just before Christmas , Had loads of issues with the ex flapper , been back to dealers 3 times now , My crime was to actually ride the bike in bad weather , salted roads etc , Corrosion has apparantly got into the area and causing the flapper too stick shut occasionally resulting of course in massive loss of power ... Anyway ... Its never put up a fault on the dash on any of the occasions this has happened ! , Im told by dealer it only puts up a fault if the valve sticks open , but not if it sticks shut . Maybe this piece of information may be of some interest
The exhaust valve doesnt make much difference. It seems one fly by wire throttle closes rapidly then when you re-open you get a shunt. Im working on the fix as we speak. So far i have eliminated the 02 sensors , ex valve , rev limit , main fuel maps and changed the sport mode fly by wire to a one to one ratio and a smoother progression when commin on the gas.
