Well took a well worn out moo to the vets on Weds to be spayed. She doing well, usual night of hell following anaesthetic as it just causes her to be cold for a night it seems so after sleeping on the sofa (Well not really sleeping, trying to) with the heating on hades level (for our house) and her still shivering on my lap all night till just about alarm clock time, so yesterday was a long day! Shes back to herself today and hating being grounded. Luckily, the medi-vest is fairing quite a bit better than the 4minutes average for a buster collar so fingers crossed - this was her just after back from the vets, she was out of it for a while this time compared to usual Just sad as a weekend without walks but will make up for it next weekend
Walkies are a lot more fun without having to bath the furry bugger each time. In the winter i'd mostly keep mine on the lead and stick t the paths.
I kept a hose outside and trained mine to wait until they had clean paws and underbelly and a good towel rub then banned to the kitchen for a time
My ex GF would take the dog into the shower with her (a treat I never received ) Then blow dry her, doggie loved a blow dry!

I’ve got one of these cordless rechargeable pressure washers. No tank or taps needed. Just fill the bucket (supplied) or a 5L bottle with warm water, stick the feed pipe in the top and away you go. Just be careful spraying around the old beef hula hoop area, as it’s quite powerful on the jet settings.
Don’t want to jinx anything but it’s bone dry by ours and has been for a few days now, bloody glorious.
My oldest has been limping again but also licking his feet a lot which led me to believe he had something stuck in it so off to the vets we went again this morning. They couldn’t find anything apart from a matted clump of hair between his toes (he has REALLY hairy feet) thankfully so that saved me a few hundred quid but they still managed to grab £61 as a consultancy charge!!! Nearly double what I paid the last time we were there. Sickening.
We are having our latest pup spayed soon and I couldn’t believe the prices now, our other girl was about £180 (admittedly a few years ago) but now it’s nearer £600 and keyhole is even more. I blame all the pet insurance, it’s allowed vets to over inflate prices.
And I imagine that causes a vicious circle because people see how expensive vet treatment can be and are terrified of not being able to afford to treat their pet and so they aren't willing to risk not having insurance. The whole thing strikes me as a protection racket and one of the things which keeps me awake at night (and I mean that literally, not figuratively) is Iggy falling seriously ill but the insurer finds some way to avoid paying for his treatment and I can't afford to do so myself.

We don’t have it for our three either, we have a pot we both put into for vets and if anything big happened then we have credit cards and I have a few bikes I could sell.
And as they get older, and more likely to need a vet, the insurance gets to such a ridiculous price it isn’t worth it anymore. our 14 year old boy (Jack russel crossed with border terrier) isn’t insurable anymore. Trouble is what do you do, the operation on our Great Danes eyes was about £4k, don’t know how we would have been able to afford that without selling the bikes.
The little lad is not so little, almost 6m old old now and today tipped the scales at 11.9kg! Needs his legs to grow a bit longer…
