Inspired by Franco82's post about having his pin up poster 998, and the humorous responses... thought we could share what we actually had on the wall as yoof... Had a full length version of this one... Dali Egon Schiele
I had one exactly like this picture on my wall as a 17 year old. My mum and dad used to ask me to take it down if my Nan stayed as she used to have my room.
Debbie Harry on a Van Veen rotary And some trippy artwork from Yes Oh, and the tennis girl scratching her arse but everyone had that
Not these actual pics, but close enough. Also some tart with big tits. I'd find a random one but too spoiled for choice. I'll leave it to your imagination.
Mine would have been Aprilia 2 strokes, the MOTOGP Cube, and the 916! Oh and I had a Big Bimota vdue poster. my mate had the original Alpinestar Doohan Slide picture which is incredible. tbh probably doesn’t look it now but to have that bike control with 180hp and a 2k power band is really something
Got that one from the theater around the corner when they stopped showing the movie (which I saw three times in a month…). Getting it for free was seen as some sort of heroic feat by my mates, back in the day… And of course, risking an absolute lack of originality, my all time classic, up on my wall for years. I still have it. In the garage now, though, being married, grown up and all…
Oh I don't know I reckon it was fantastic bike control... yep it was a small rev range of power but it also came in like an on/off switch and they didn't have traction control either. Here's a quote from the linked article below "The 500’s were very powerful, over 200 hp, and light, which made them prone to wheelspin. When they broke traction, it was instantaneous. Doohan explains, “On a 500, the tyre breaks loose at 8000 rpm; before you shut the throttle, it’s at 12000. Compared to a Superbike, the torque of the two-stroke engine and how quick they respond because of their lighter weight makes the 500’s far more dangerous”. https://www.zabikers.co.za/2020/05/12/the-unrideables-a-time-of-two-stroke-terror/
I was told I had a touch of the David Essex about me when I was younger… must have been the white high heels
When I worked in Our Price Records I bought a huge poster of Debbie Harry home for our flat. My flatmates made me get rid of it fairly quickly. (I wish I’d kept it as it was designed by H. R. Giger of Alien fame)
