Went to the gym played squash, got home and cut the hedges planted some new plants and went out for a blast on the SS Out for dinner at a local Italian shortly.
A nice walk with the Mrs & dogs this morning. Cut the grass and some tidying up in the garden. Invited my dad down for lunch , then we all had a afternoon nap . An hour out on the SL to round a very pleasant day off. Just watching BSB from Donny.
Nearly fell off the SSIE pulling out of a junction because I thought I was in 1st but wasn't and stalled. Luckily zero traffic. From now on I'm gonna blip it. And check clutch fluid tomorrow.
Went to the Sunday Ride Classic, in Le Castellet (Paul Ricard race track). Saw Raymond Roche there (he lives locally) and a bunch of Tamburini bikes, as the Ducati Club de France was celebrating the 916 30th Anniversary there. Here’s my SP3 having a chat with two of her twin sisters. Nicely tucked up for the night…
heard an old triumph twin coming up behind me on my walk to the train station and guessed it might be and indeed it was my first " distinguished " of the day, shame I didn't get my "camera " out quicker
Rode from Belgium into Germany via Spa. Stopped at the ‘Ducati hotel’, which was full of non Ducatis, then stayed at the GT3 hotel near the Nurburgring.
After the massed Harleys were gone, as I sat here with the windows wide, laundry drying, all I could hear were songbirds twittering. Looking out: the neighbour's tree across the way, lushly dark green and copper leaves gently ruffling in the breeze, reflecting dazzling sunlight; beyond, the rooftops from a now mostly bygone, pastoral age, to the densely-wooded hills in the background beneath the occasional cotton puff cloud in an otherwise clear blue sky. It was a perfect moment, like an epiphany, of bucolic splendour, and I couldn't help thinking that, if the neighbours across the way were looking back, they'd see me in my thunderbags. Which could be why the blinds are down.
no, was riding at that time, but certainly looked dapper and hope he didn't come a cropper with that gear on. Saw 100 plus bikers in East London also on DGR had only just turned video off only 5 minutes earlier so didn't get to record them all sounding horns off at the sight of an E-Type.
Looks like a very nice trip indeed Are you doing the 'ring? Last did it a few years back on my MTS1200S - surprisingly capable so your machine would no doubt be perfect!
Not this time. The weather was crap, so the first time I do it, I'd prefer it to be dry. Had a play on the autobahn earlier though, but just couldn't get past 245kmh with the roll bag on the back. I had about 6 attempts, but although the bike had loads of power left, the handlebars kept waggling every time.
Blimey nightmare....but its always rammed with tourists and best avoided. Road between cochem and the ring is good though
