  1. Curiously enough, at the joinery I worked at in the '80s, in Andover, Hampshire (next door to Andover Norton), there were peacocks in the back of the business adjacent to our back yard. I don't recall ever finding out why.

  4. Did you work at Ducal?

  5. No. STD. Don't laugh. It was the initials of the three founders. They probably conceded that it might be mistaken for Subscriber Trunk Dialling.

  6. Had the Police at the house until 10:30 last night, finally come to take a statement about the threats and damage from neighbours. 2 incidents yesterday the threats and then they came on my property again and did more damage when I popped out for an hour.
I know the Police won’t do anything but at least it’s logged with them and I’m running out of (legal) ideas. While they were at our house a call came through their radio saying a very angry man has dialled 999 and reported a police car blocking his drive, it was our neighbours!
Does anyone know how I prove I own our hedge, police asked and I don’t remember a list of what hedges I own when I bought the house?

  7. Take a look at your deeds

  8. The property boundaries that are your responsibility should be marked with a ‘T’ on your deeds. Can’t remember which way the ‘T’ should be but I’ll check my deeds later. Andy

  9. I had a look at our deeds (1960 bungalow) which are all hand written but it doesn’t mention boundaries. We have farmland on two sides and a road on the other so maybe they thought it would be obvious as I don’t share any with another house.

  10. If you have the original copy that shows the plot prior to development it’ll have the yardage noted. This can be especially useful when clarifying a boundary issue

  11. @Zeus, the deeds on my 1950’s house has the boundaries marked with a ‘T’. The tail of the T on “my” boundary points in to the property and the bar is parallel to the boundary line. Not sure what the fee is to find out (or as the land owner, why you should have to pay it) but the Land Registry should have the boundaries defined. Andy

  12. Took my 916 for its mot ,and it failed, I had forgotten to reattach the pillion footpegs!, was concentrating too much on putting the standard number plate back on...Doh.
Took it back later and it passed.:upyeah:

  13. I’ve just been looking at land registry and a .gov article and both say land registry boundaries are just an indication and not exact proof of ownership.

  17. ive been having a real good study of our deeds today and basically it’s a triangular plot with farm land on two sides and the road running along side the other, this is the side I need to prove is mine but the road was straightened some time in the 60s and part of out land was sold or compulsory purchased to do it. every plan , diagram, map that shows our plot shows it before the road was changed and our land still going right across what is now road. So that’s proof that not only do I own the hedge I also own the road and tomorrow I will be erecting a toll booth to collect revenue :grinning:

  18. Rode from Germany back to France via Switzerland in biblical rain for most of the day. Despite having goretex clothing and boots, still managed to get one boot full of water, water up both sleeves, and a constantly misted visor (yes I have a pin lock fitted).

it brightened up for the last couple of hours, where we were rewarded with this…
