I love the wheel colour!! Is that paint or powder coat? Are you able to share the details please. Deaks
Thanks Deaks It's Powder, I gave some guys I use for work a bit of free range on what Gold they had in stock. And have purposely asked for it without a gloss lacquer over the top as I didn't want them too shiny. And yes, I think I've lucked out with the colour. I'll try to find out what the actual powder was, as I'm not sure the guys would do work for the general public.
That would be great. I have used a great company in Bristol for powder coat, so if you can find out the details of the powder used, I can see if Nick at Griffs can get it if he hasn’t already got some. TIA Deaks
I finally got round to having the tyres swapped over onto the Gold wheels, and fitted them to the bike today. I'm not sure. Think I'll get the original rough wheels stripped and powdercoated Black in case I decide I don't like the Gold: . .
I like the gold rims on the 999, I think you have enough gold already with the fork uppers, rear shock and calipers any more gold it's going to look pimp..
Honestly WTL, I welcome the comments, if they agree with mine or not, that's why I posted. I've never been a fan of Black wheels, as I like the distinction between the wheels and tyres, personal choice. I've also now picked up another set of wheels for my 1000SS/SL Mongrel, and am considering White for them.
I do think I'd go with white, with that fairing lower. But then I'm the guy who rebuilt a CB550 with a white frame.
Looks good. Did you consider picking out the colour of the rocker covers? Might work, it'd certainly simplify the colours.
Oh wow that's scary! I've only today purchased a used set of rocker covers that I was going to have done in the same Gold to try that very thing.
