^^^^^^ More of a solution looking for a problem. Single sided SA and SS front forks in each case the solution will have to be heavier overall (absolute mass and un-sprung mass) than having the front and rear axles supported at both ends.
A rare pic of my 2 Italians together, like chalk and cheese to ride but both addictive beasts in their own way...and a good one of the bins to keep @Ducbird happy.
V.nice. So where do you source the green fuel lines as fitted to the Jota from and do they go hard & brittle within 6 months?
Thanks - I think its green Cavis hose, it was fitted by specialists LaverdaScozia in Glasgow, when he did some work on the bike a couple of years ago , and it hasn't gone hard yet.
I've heard LaverdaScozia are THE guys to go to for Laverdas... and it now appears also for green Cavis hose that stays soft. Perhaps he has a secret stash because the stuff I've bought that has purported to be Cavis goes hard in a matter of weeks.
Yep...Keith Nairn at Laverdascozia is one of only a couple of guys in the UK that i would trust my Jota with, the other is Ged Shorten at GCS in Dorset...theres a few who think they are Laverda experts but aren't.
i'm glad you are all homing in on this, I have a special place for Cavis Benz also, this is the only stuff that I've been able to trust for 40 years but not on Laverda. I'm used to larger bore being in green, the finer bore was always brown but can't speak for motorcycles. if it's the Cavis Benz tube that I'm used to, then it does go hard, but it is stable, and has never ever fractured of its own accord. I use a kettle of hot water or carefully used hairdryer if I have to go doing work on them in the winter.
What with the number of times I seem to have to take the (rear) carb off I'm not sure I could be bothered with all that faff... I ended up using some Motion Pro tube that has remained relatively soft but has discoloured... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126188649609 I also bought some black Viton rubber tubing that I haven't used yet although I suspect it will probably work quite well if not look the part.
nor i, probably would've fixed the carb instead. Still a safer route than using this "high spec "rubbish last year..
good evening all Just thought I'd post a couple of pics of my other steed whilst looking for something to do. I have done a couple of mods to this R1 as you can see, hope you like, At least it has a Duc rear end of sorts, what do you think people?
