Mugello Motogp

  1. If decisions are being made on such a fine line the silly season really is damaging the sport.

  2. Yeh hes certainly made a step forward this season but one "sprint race" win and we're nearly halfway through a season.
Hardly the stuff of moto gp legend is it?
As for Aldegeur he will have better days but again, probably another rider promoted far too soon.
So deseperate to find the "next Acosta" arent they when right now he probably doesnt exist.

  3. Lets not forget Aldegeurs had three times as many Moto 2 wins as Roberts and all of them full distance (and also won the FIM/CEV Moto 2 championship). I would certainly have put my money on him over Roberts if i had a moto gp seat to give away.

  4. I don’t think they are (taken in isolation) but most decisions are taken after something happens to decide it. End of the day it’s about the top riders being on the top bike. And both sides (riders and factory) will do everything within their power to get the winning combination. Money plays a part too of course as does nepotism and flag favouring (xenophobia is too strong).
I for one quite like ‘silly season’. Especially if the racing is a bit dull.

  5. Ross Brawn’s take on the Marquez versus Martin choice during his conversation with Susie on the grid made me laugh out loud. Andy

  6. My conclusion so far
The Acosta bubble has burst and MM is getting to grips with the Ducati ,however the main race highlighted the almost identical performance of Ducat/Aprilia /KTM which puts the onus on the riders and MM was the only one actually racing while the others seemed to be hanging on for dear life in timed laps.

  7. You only have to look at practice/quali, less than a second between the top 18 riders, so hardly surprising its got a bit processional/hard to overtake, but we all wanted close/more manufacturers at the sharp end didnt we?
Not sure MM was the only one racing either, looked to me like he fucked his tyres trying to hang on to the back of Bastianini, who was also racing when he overtook Martin.

  8. If you want better racing, dump the tyre pressure rule. Simple.
Too much time spent worrying about it.

  9. Yes, not racing was a bit unfair, i mean i got the impression they were holding position, all be it flat out, where as MM seemed to want to at least try and catch the bloke in front :).

  11. Be careful what you wish for. We now have races where anyone of about 8 riders can win the race. In the past it’s been one or two or even just one.

Mugello was a master class from Pecco. Might not always be exciting but his strategy to win a race when starting 5th on the grid was exemplary.

  12. Could be worse/even less entertaining, Hodgy was heard saying he thinks all the bikes are too loud and they should make them quieter, even the m3 bikes lbecause its ruining peoples weekend ol.
Dont think many agreed with him tbf.

  13. Martin to Aprilia.
Brilliant news for the grid in ‘25

  14. Have to agree with Red899, Gavin and his excitement is too much. Pleased to hear Hodgy use his weekly phrase 'best riders in the world' again, must be a compulsory Dorna thing. Great to see Pecco win and Enea pass Marquez like he did. Tired of hearing from the Marquez publicity machine, he's the third best rider out there but his antics are wearing thin.

  15. Ducati imo have dropped a clanger. Going to be great to watch though. Just think, MM getting a tow off Baggy again lol. What can go wrong?

  16. MotoGP should use the old WSB Superpole lap, everyone gets one flying lap on an empty track, bin it or win it, great for the viewers and no towing or waiting for a quick rider to show you the way.

  17. Jesus, grim news in this house.
Can pretty much write this season off now too because theres absolutely no way theyre letting him walk off to Aprilia with a world title under his arm.
    Shite.

  18. Keep Enea as number 2 and leave Marquez at Gresini. Saves a lot of money and sponsor issues.

  19. I second that.

  20. Aldeguer will be on Marcs bike i think unless his brother goes instead and marc stays. the 24 engine Gresini will be even better.
