Hi all my DVT 1200 has a leaking radiator. I was riding the bike recently and my attention was drawn to my right foot peg as my boot was slipping off the peg . On inspection I could see the bottom of the radiator was wet . There is a radiator guard over the radiator which i removed and lo and behold in the middle of the radiator about 1 inch from the bottom it had sprung a leak ! No rise in the temperature and the bike is a 2015 model with 14k . Anyone else had any problems with the radiator?
New issue to my knowledge, did a stone or something hit it? Replacing the radiator is pretty easy, but a new unit will be costly. A whopping €1,000
M and P do have a pattern one real cheap but it's listed for the V2, I have a v2 and 1200DVT here and both rads look identical.
I don’t think the leak is as a result of a stone as there is a radiator guard on it and there are no obvious strike marks ! A new one from Ducati is £840ish ! I’ve contacted my Indy and will take it to him this weekend coming ! He stated that he has seen them give up but he can fix them but would need to see it first
Haven't had the exact same issue, but I've dealt with radiator problems before on different bikes. Sometimes it's just wear and tear over time. Have you considered getting it patched up or replaced?
Hopefully the plan is to get it recored I’m just a little miffed that it failed given the mileage and overall condition of the bike !
Good suggestion re M & P £132 for a radiator however it lists the same radiator for the 1200, V2 and 1260 ! I’m assuming that the same radiator has been used throughout the range of bikes ??

From what I understand it is quite common for them to leak around the bosses on sides that hold the side panels on, Pro Twins send them away and get the bosses re-welded.
Update ! Had the radiator drained, welded and pressure tested all good ! Bike taken out on a 50 mile test run and everything appears all ok ! Cost £120 much better than £900 for a new radiator!!
