Went on a speaking tour between here, Broadway, Evesham and Tewkesbury, to promote the yellow Ducati. Well, more like a barking tour, actually! I've been asked to go back when I get the louder zorsts on. Honestly, they loved me! Pics, next time the sun comes out.
Impromptu BBQ in the drizzle. Thai green curry sausages, pork chop and lamb steaks, all washed down with Estrella Damn. Yum, yum Andy
We've been to the Tan Hill Inn (at 1732ft above sea level its the highest pub in Britain allegedly) to see The Phonics (Stereophonics tribute band). They were very good.......and the lead singer not only sounded like Kelly Jones but looked like him too.
Good luck with that journey Chris, i'm thinking about going to Box Hill and toss a milkshake over a Ducati rider just for giggles.
Not today exactly but Wednesday rode down to Portsmouth for the night time crossing to Cherbourg. Then rode to Sainte Mere Egliseit was heaving Left at 3 pm and set off for Pegasus Bridge a big detour due to N13 being closed and half of the periferique around Caen Spent the evening there and then on to Ouisterham to catch the overnight ferry back 685 miles. It always amazes me how other bikers are themselves amazed I do.my touring on a 1098. If it's a panzer rider I just tell them it's a couple of weeks in a year touring, for the other 50 weeks I'd be stuck with a bloody ugly bike
I know the original owners ^(Fiat 126) they once drove it all the way to auto Italia at Brooklands and I think they lived in Bristol!
Off for a late lunch at the Greyhound in Besslesleigh on the A420 after a visit to Helmet City Oxford (actually Kidlington) to collect a new visor and pin locks for the X-Lite 803. I’m told the X-Lite 803 is ending production and will be superseded by a Nolan branded replacement. Andy
Went to Sainsbury's to fill the tank - what with the fuel light staying on. Walked into the kiosk and the lady behind the counter said "you love your bike, don't you". A statement rather than a question. I said yes. What a strange question though, I thought. She asked if I ride it all year round and I said no, because "they're hard to clean and expensive". Possibly I look like an old man and not who you'd expect riding a big, powerful bike with drops (though it's positively pedestrian compared to the 999)? Though if so she doesn't know the Ducati demographic. When I got home I wondered if it was my yellow Ducati t-shirt? Or maybe she just saw this cool cat and couldn't help herself (or see the prodigious stomach)? I think I plump for the guy on a yellow Ducati wearing a yellow t-shirt that says 'Ducati' looking like an overgrown teenager. A very overgrown teenager. It seemed like she was being friendly; but if she was taking the piss, I imagine when I thumped past her window as I rode out, in that riding position, I looked cool enough, if apparently into the third trimester.
Out for a quick hoon this afternoon and returning into my village I saw my mate and his family out for a walk, stopped to say hi… And had the best conversation ever with his little girl,.. she’s just sooo cute
*yesterday* ended up running back to the yard with the truck, as I ran out of time on Friday, went straight up to my parents house, to work on my sons VW T5 camper, then, took my parents over to Lincoln to look at some motorhomes
Post TT theres a bit to do - during this week... RSV4: caked in shit, flies etc etc, chain stretched, plugs need changing... Z1000: Sump, engine covers, stand, exhaust, various other bits pulled for cerakoting and re-cerakoting Plugs need changing along with engine oil. Next month itll be going in (for the first time in my time owning it [8 years now] for a valve check - and possibly throttle body calibration) Then the savings plan starts for some posh cartridges for the Hyper.
