V4 And So It Begins

  1. I'm eyeballing the Roadtech 02 after I get through the Scorpions. Interesting info that it could be the tyre, not the settings. I must say just going by the feel of the ride, not the wear, the bike never felt like it's off in any way.

  2. Been told the 02 won’t be out until September as being held up for some reason , TUV I suspect .

  3. Interesting you say that, I’m 1500 miles in on a pair of 02’s. Not that I’ve noticed any issues and I can’t offer any comparisons as the V4 Pikes Peak is very different to my old Multistrada 1200. Might have to dig a bit deeper to see what the delay is. Andy

  4. The shortage appears to be size specific and given what I’ve read on the internet, the US have just received the first batch of the tyre. My guess is simply supply and demand, nothing sinister. Andy

  5. Yes , it’s the 19 front that’s the issue , 17 fine .

  6. My original Scorpion Trail II after about 7,000 miles

All of them wear differently on the trailing edge of a tread block compared to the leading edge. I just put that down to the fact it’s the trailing edge of the block that’s pushing off the tarmac, the leading edge is smacking into the tarmac, but maybe it’s not, do you think it’s a rebound issue?

Mostly Touring mode, medium engine power, auto levelling but with about 30% of the time it being in Sport, full power, 2 rider & bags setting (but just me on the bike).

  7. Well, I've just fitted my track wheels, that have a pair of M7RR's fitted, in preparation for a hoon today. Andy

  8. Thanks for posting those. Similar trend to what I'm seeing. Spent a day on the sport mode, it's more usable then I first thought. I'll stay on that for a bit, see if the wear will look different.

  9. Had a hoon, Metzeler M7RRs were awesome, so much more confidence inspiring than the Rosso IVs. Actually better than the Roadtec 02’s for feel but obviously the compromise in life. Andy

  10. They don't seem to have that tyre in 19" front. So perhaps only good for PP

  11. No, the M7RR is an older tyre, now superseded by the M9RR which does have a 19” front version. Very much a sports orientated tyre. Andy

  12. I had the M9RR on my V2S - great tyres .. but I didn't really use their full potential and they didn't last long.
