Got the insurance renewal for the ST4. Insurance company want £228 ! Now, admittedly some of the details are not 100% up to date, so I try a few comparison sites (bearing in mind that the insurance for my 750 S Formula is £98, with the same company). Cheapest I can get it down to is £58. Company I am actually with quote £63 (limited mileage, in a garage, worth next to nothing, silly old git rider, no other riders, £250 excess...). So I give them a call - Snotty woman on the phone says £228 is a good quote - I say I think not! Best quote she can give me is over £100. I say - hang on a minute, my other policy is "multi-bike", why can't I just transfer the ST4 onto that one? She says there will be an admin fee, you may not get the same NCD blah, blah, blah... I say I have maximum NCD already on both so let's try it and see what it costs... Turns out that including a £30 admin fee, it costs £51 ! So - the insurance that they wanted to charge me £228 for actually costs £21 ! Less than 10% of their original renewal quote... Insurance companies - what a bunch of chancers !
just to tag onto this thread (if anyone finds it) - what's a good price for multibike cover (4) up to 996 for a nearly 60 year old in South London these days?
