Hi everyone! I,m new here so be nice! i,ve tested the multi and the new caponord, they are both different dealers and will give me the same price for my px i actually liked the caponords ride more, it is very smooth BUT it doesn't have the go like the multi, I,m heading more in favour of the duke because of residuals and aftermarket goodies! Plus it's cheaper per month on finance , I am looking for the base model with the free pannier deal! Thoughts please? andy
Seems to me you want the Mutley, go for it. If you can afford a bit more (a few hundred quid) you will get a ex demo 1200s with Skyhook, you can then set the bike up for softer and harder setups as you want. I got a 4 month old GT for a lot less than a new 1200S, so bargains can be had going for used. Also you dont need to run the damn thing in!
Got to be the Ducati. Aprillia couldn't even manage to get their Caponard ready for the last NEC bike show (it was on a stand incomplete!!), or have prices etc for the show...god knows how long you would wait for any parts! Just ask around and check out Aprillia forums. Add in fuel economy/resale and its a no brainer.
Cheers everyone! I test rode the gt version, those panniers are huge!! i think it's going to be the multi just have to choose which one!
Dealer I used, the finance would have been the same, new or used. I ended up going for cash plus my old bike mind you, as the bank interest rates are shocking, it's worth shopping around, you might get a good deal too if they are trying to make targets
The width of the GT is akin to a bus, (sorry any GT owners) defo a non starter for me with those HUGE panniers.
Well that's fucked it! just gone and test ridden one again and ended up buying the GT!!!!! its pre owned and the first Customer switched the panniers for the smaller ones which I,m happy about! The suspension is fantastic at faster speeds, really does feel sports bike planted.cant wait to pick her up! cheers everyone for making my mind up!
I got the GT for the fact of it having more space to pack loads of shit in that I don't really need to take on my trip ;-) Oh and the go faster stealth colour too of course. Haha. Enjoy you bike mate.
I was slightly worried by the width of the panniers to start with, but having just come back from a tour to Croatia I can honestly say they are fine. We even filtered on the M25, carefully, but it can be done. The larger panniers really came in use on a long tour 2 up, and the bike behaved superbly. As a long time BMW owner, I can honestly say that both my wife and I rate the multi as the best bike we have toured on. 3250 miles in 2 weeks was a real test and it passed with flying colours!
