V4 What Is It Worth

  1. Hoping for some guidance, I rebuilt a v4s multistrada, 2022 bike. It doesn’t come with radar or blind spot. So just a standard bike. Full main dealer service history and I had the dealer complete the latest service, fit new metzler m9rr tyres and heated grips.

    I replaced all parts with new with the only used part being the headlight, which has been coded to the bike and ecu. The clocks were replaced new and again coded with the mileage from the bcm module.

    I have fitted the crash bars, bash plate, heated seats, front and rear carbon mudguards and Akro pipe (this had the optional exhaust and front mudguard pack from new). Replaced front disc’s, added the carbon screen and dark screen side deflectors, evotech rad guards and Ducati performance hand guards.

    it has 3500 miles with me covering the last 500. It’s a fantastic bike but it’s time for a new project.

    This is a cat-n and aware the used market is poo, but looking for realistic prices. The bike is like new. I also went for the sport colours and had the new phone pocket with fan fitted.

    What is it worth ?

  2. The normal rule of thumb is 15-20% under market value. But ultimately it's worth what someone will pay.

  5. yep, hard to value, most of the dealers are at £18k, and private £16,500 upwards. Would £14k be to much ?. I know what it owes me, and this would make a very small profit, but I do these for fun and not a business.

    I traded in my Diavel V4 (great bike but spoiled after riding the multi) for a Triumph Rocket 3 Storm, but also thinking of another 2nd bike being a Monster SP. What are they like ?.
     
  6. Girlfriend lovers her base 937cc but at 6’4” I struggled with the knee bend on the standard seat height. I see the SP has an 850mm seat height option so might even have a butcher's hook myself. Would have been better with the 959 engine out of the Streetfighter but at least you shouldn’t go to prison for speeding :D Andy

  7. Second hand knowledge but from someone I think was in the know - speaking to a guy who had an impressive collection of Ducati's including SF v4 SP2 he was on that day and several other specials and his view was the standard monster was better than the SP version
     
  8. My biggest issue with the stock Monster/Monster+ is the basic non adjustable Kabya forks and a ramp pre load adjuster from the Ark on the rear Kabya shock. Not to pull my punches, it’s poor. Not sure how the, made by Öhlins for Ducati, forks perform but it couldn’t be any worse. The Öhlins steering damper is definitely a plus, because the bike is so lightweight, the damper keeps the head shake to a minimum over rough roads. You’ll get a test ride on a Monster/Monster+ but unlikely on an SP unless it’s used. Andy
    PS might be expensive but the Termignoni decat system adds to the smileability :D Andy

  9. if I was in the market I’d be wanting to see about 70% of a non cat machine personally. If it was 14k I’d think for 2k more, after a haggle, I’d be in a private buy that’s easier to sell when the time comes. If I’ve got 14 then I can probably do 16. It looks lovely and I think you’ve done a great job on it. The bargain hunters who want to get in low are out there certainly but they also want a buffer for when they sell it on. HTH
     
  10. Yea I know what you mean, I would expect to get £13k which is about 20% less than the cheapest, dealer advised they would expect to sell a none cat-n for £18-£19k, seen a couple similar mileage and age at £17k private, I just have some nice extras.
    Still undecided as it such a great bike to ride so might wait a bit.

  11. If it was me i would get a year or two use out of it, superb bike. A few years down the road the cat thing becomes much less of an issue.
