Some "interesting" design ideas on the front end. Maybe some Ducati designers got some ideas from here....
..but he is so humble and polite that it doesn't come across as critical. He definitely is a national treasure.
I don't know if anyone is watching this, but dear me the rear manifold is truly appalling. Obviously zero f%cks given by whoever made that
I remember a video of the front forks being taken out to replace the caliper pads. What a total faff. Can imagine most people losing patience with such a clusterf@ck of a design.
Episode 9 is out. “I guess you could say it fitted where it touched” a true gent describing shite engineering! .
Absolutely, I met him once at Shelsley Walsh before I knew who he was , I just thought he was some chap with a five cylinder 2 stroke Kawasaki! Lovely chap, he definitely doesn’t realise just how good he is.
A link to Episode 9 of the Nemisis V8 rebuild, and another to his YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com./watch?v=BLTxSsJoEwo . https://www.youtube.com./@AllenMillyard . Hope it's of interest. Tom.
theres a bit where he cut down a bold and said "and it fitted really nice, i was pleased with that" so was i
That engine is interesting, it looks like it started with some proper design and engineering then was finished off by the apprentice who was in a hurry to get to the pub.
the thing I find interesting is that it’s easy to assume Norton just ‘ran out of money’ but the reality is that nothing Alan has done costs a significant amount, other than time. If there is £100 in metal bushings and bits and pieces I’d be surprised. he will get it running into a really nice bike tbh. I bet it will make a good chunk more power also, I’m looking forward to what he does with the exhaust headers and the cooling solution as that’s where he will make another real difference to the bike
I like the bits where Allen always says "perfect" and "nice" where pedantically it should be "perfectly" and "nicely". And he doesn't care, having other priorities.
