  1. Highways England are forecasting driving gloom and doom this weekend as they expect approaching 500,000 people attending the British Formula 1. Andy

  2. What’s different this year?

Sunday is £400 each just to get in…..no seat no nothing…

  3. That is crazy money but obviously the demand is there. My little brother is going with his F1 mad daughter.

  4. There will be more over taking in a traffic jam than there will be at Silverstone.
    Its also free to attend.
    Just saying :)

  5. The thought of sitting in that traffic, to watch the current era of F1 really doesnt appeal. Each to their own, I have done it in the past so if thats your thing, enjoy.

These days, only interested in Silverstone is to ride round the GP ciruit - Yes I am still bitter they aren't letting us bikes on this year but hey ho cant change it!

  6. For the 280 quid pleasure of riding around boring silverstone…. Probably in the rain, I would rather put that money towards a proper circuit like Portimao or Brno ..

  7. Kinell’ And you’re not going to go on your tod, are you? So that’s a grand minimum… :astonished:

  8. Don’t forget charges for parking in a field plus the cost of a ‘mystery meat’ burger (onions not included)!

  9. Went to bike world championships at Silverstone throughout the 70's till it went to Donnington was a cracking experience compared to today but that's how things are. The younger generation can't experience what we did. To me Silverstone MGP today is a rip off but not to the younger generation they have nothing to compare it to.
Thing is There are better places to get the experience.
F1 I have done 3 years in Singapore 3 day ticket in a grandstand with a pop concert afterwards on the Saturday and Sunday £350
The actual holiday is not a lot more than a 4* all inclusive in Spain

  10. Just like every single bank holiday weekend, they say the traffic will be worse than it’s ever been. Twats.

  11. Who says?

getting in and out of Silverstone these days is a piece of piss… the DC are both run the same way in for beginning and out at the end.

if you are not going to the event and are stupid enough not to plan your journey to where else you go then you reap what you sow ‍♂️

  12. Yeah can see the benefit and wisdom in that. Sadly till the kids are a bit older I’m grounded so 4-5 day trips are out but hopefully not much longer!

  13. When I went to Silverstone for the moto gp two years ago they had a bmx competition as the main side stand entertainment on the Sunday (+ dj). I couldn’t believe my eyes the opportunities they were missing.

  14. The 3 years I did Singapore it was Rihanna,JLo and Robbie Williams and one of the years John Legend as well

  15. There are usually 3 headline bands and 5 support acts on stage at the track over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Andy

  16. The RAC and the Highways Agency always spout that bollocks on a Bank Holiday, yet the traffic is the same as it always is.

  17. Stupid is as stupid does ….

  18. If you have ever been to a GP in Spain or Italy you’ll know they shepherd the full crowd through a 5 bar gate…. But I’d still go there‍♂️
