  1. I'm desperately resisting it.

I instantly thought 749 engine transplant.

  8. Sold,
Would make a good rebuild thread, anyone on here?

  9. ..missed this.. that's the first genuine bargain i've seen on there this year, not that i swarm through the lot anymore. Saw a Darmah for sale last year for crazy money but you really can't hesitate anymore.

  10. Hi Chris
Surprised it lasted a few days, as we all know from the listing the engine needs work how much we don’t know but looked a very reasonable good price/project,

  11. it might form part of the "benchmark" that is demonstrating what is going on with the marketplace. It would have been gone the same day just a few years ago.

  12. I went to the H&H auction at the National Motorcycle Museum on Wednesday. Compared with previous auctions I have been to there over the last 5 years or so, the amount of people there was dramatically less. Bidding was slow and most bikes weren't reaching their reserve, but provisional subject to negotiation.

It wasn't just the old British stuff (for which in general demand has been in decline for 5 years or more, but across the board including 80's Japanese 2 and 4 strokes and Italian (old and more modern).

    The 999R that had a (punchy imo) £18-20k guide made a provisional £12.5k (+fees). A 1983 Mike Hailwood Replica reached £6200 (+fees). A 2006 Paul Smart Replica with a guide price of £12-16k didn't even get a bid.
