The slow mo of TR from this afternoon’s session with the front wheel airborne then landing, immediately burying the forks into a big rolling stoppie (going into Goddard I think) was magnificent. Christ that man has some talent.
Goddards is off camber too I believe! Like our mutual mate in moto gp he’s a totally unnatural talent and a complete one off. They mentioned how many couple of seconds each factory had gone faster/slower across the misano race distance from last year and he was 25 seconds quicker than the fastest beemer in 2023, which I’m pretty confident in saying wasn’t due to performance upgrades. The other factories were like 2 or 3 seconds faster or slower.
It is but not at the heavy braking point. Until the resurface it was really bumpy and lifting the rear was often seen but since the resurface it’s lovely and smooth.
Checked Eurosport website for their tv guide last night and they weren’t showing any wsbk at all. Yet this morning, on the guide in tv, it’s showing qualifying as live about 1030. Ffs they can’t even get their own shit together!
Can’t find on skavvy dis+ either. It may cost far less but it challenges your patience, this tv thing…
Bennett’s always have a good guide to where racing is showing… https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/racing/world-superbikes/wsbk-calendar
Discovery+ shows Race 1 as 13.00-15.15 today. Currently showing Superpole qualifying. WCR race coverage starts at 12:00 today
Toseland out on track for the first time in 13 years. No limits trackday at Donny. Novice group (honestly). Good on him.
Enjoyed seeing sr45 grab a front row start looked like he was clinging on for dear life at one point. The interview with Bautista and Toprak was great too. Shows you can be mates and still want to twat each other on track.
Couple of thoughts that I don’t want to overshadow Toppers this weekend who was phenomenal. Alvaro is majorly pissed with the new regs and is holding it in for now, but the sly digs are already there. Wsb feels a bit like a retirement league right now barring bulega and if I was him I’d still be looking at returning to moto 2. Which is a great shame imo.
I have a view but just got off track and enjoying a cold beer. 33 hours trackside over 3 days this weekend and I'm buggered. I'll post my thoughts tomorrow. Andy
