Mv Agusta F4 (2000) Rubber Things Help.

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Paul55, Jul 20, 2024.

  1. These clamps hold these four exhaust “silencers” in place under the seat.
I thought I would dismantle the rear end for a clean up and sense this might be the moment to replace the twenty-five year old rubber things that have had a tough life.

Does anyone know what they are called and better still, where to find a roll (?) of the stuff?

  2. Sure. Rubber things. HTH
No idea where you can get a roll of it though.
Red rubber grease would prolong the life of said rubber things though.

  3. Ducati just call it a gasket btw. Helpful. Not.

  4. I have got some of the red rubber grease, been wanting to find a use for it for a while.

  5. A minute in some hot water will soften the rubber nicely just before refitting, should
make them like new (for a while anyway)

  6. I only need them like new for the fitting. Then they stay for another twenty-five years.

  7. 25% oil of Wintergreen mixed with 75% Alcohol. Leave your rubber in that for a few hours to a couple of days and it will soften it nicely.

  8. Is that legal?

  9. Just Google Motorcycle exhaust bracket rubber

  10. They look great, especially the shiny, new brackets and I am tempted to replace the old brackets if I can find the right size.

  11. I have sent a message and pics to Pipe Werx….. Thanks.
