https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/1...ie-spencer-chairman-fim-motogp-stewards-panel I think we can all agree this is good news.
Good and bad. After a poor first season as a commentator, he grew into the job. Very insightful on the technical side and always interesting to listen to his explanations. That will be a miss as a motogp.com viewer and subscriber. But he has consistently voiced the right observations over race incidents and recent new rules. I wish him luck and hope his common sense can influence in the new role.
I think that’s the key take from it everyone respects SC in and out of the paddock whereas that clearly wasn’t the case with FFS.
Let's not forget, race stewards’ decisions are made by a panel of 3, not just FS. If you want to criticise, include Andrés Somolinos and Tamara Matko, both FIM appointees, in your criticism. Andy
He was the chairman and over seer though and the buck stopped with him. Don’t ever recall the media ever mentioning the other two during the various controversies he ruled over, nor the riders and teams.
The Stewards Panel don’t make the rules, they interpret and apply them. Tyre pressure rules were requested by Michelin on safety grounds. One unforeseen problem with an under pressure tyre is ground clearance when the ride height device is engaged. Could possibly ground the bodywork …… or so it was explained by Hodgson Andy
