Hy all, Planned a trip down for the weekend and staying at Bicester Friday till Monday. I've tried all the bus company website and Silverstone's site, but can't find any concrete info on busses to from the CCT.... Anyone know if there will be regular buses sat sun to get there from Bicester or is it just taxi.? Been quoted 40 each way by cab but I'll bet that's not Inc time spent in Jam's
Bus from Bicester to Silverstone is two changes and about an hour and 45 mins. Forget that! I’m going all three days and bike parking is free and no need to book. This might not help you obviously but it might if you hired a scooter? Car parking is pre bookable. Not been in a car to MotoGP so not sure of details. Expect long queues though.
Cheers, thx. We were hoping to catch a few drinks and the band Saturday night. We did a scooter for misano, brilliant to escape the circuit and head straight to tavullia for pizza before the crowds.... Looks like taxi it is..
I went once. Casey Stoner won, Simoncelli binned it, it pissed down all day and I had a crunch in the car park whilst trying to get out. All in all a shit day. I’ve watched motorsport on TV ever since
Thanks all, given we're staying in Bicester and the train tickets plus the shuttle bus cost from Milton Keynes are more than the taxi cost, I'll book the taxis. Last time we were there a couple of years ago, the track was flooded and there was no racing, bored We'd never go back then but.... Hey ho here we go again..
Taxi from Bicester to Banbury up to Hinton in the hedges where the bus goes in from up the a43 cheaper than all the way ♂️
It was actually. Partly due to advanced stages of hypothermia having being saturated all day. I was wearing a leather jacket that weighed a stone more than it should have….
Yes, modern turbo fan engines are just amazing standing still.. Seen lots of development over 45 years working with and on them.
I watched Gardner win in the pissin rain in '86 and swore I would never go back. But I did a few years ago for WSB because a mate was visiting from overseas and wanted to see it. I took my binoculars to identify the dots on the distant track. Definitely Never again. A day at Moto GP is a great day out, but there are better places than Silverstone.
I know, we said the same last time but time is a healer as they say. Wife bought hospitality tickets for my birthday so, got to go this time. Cheaper to get to and stay in mandalika! thats next year, maybe......
