Redding signs for Gresini!

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by bradders, Aug 29, 2013.

  1. Cool, but will he be on the CRT or the RC213V. Gresini run both

  2. I'm a bit gutted and extremely annoyed he gets sidelined to a 'customer bike' as I think Scott's proved his worth and is clearly fast but handicapped by his weight on a smaller bike.

what with the rules being abolished and a full fat factory served on a platter for golden boy MM and Bradl getting a factory spec bike (all be it different brakes etc) it'll be piss poor if redding is made to swank around at mid pack because of his ride.

If he's given the proper bike he'll be up the front, absolutely no doubt about it.

i for one will continue to support him as between him and Cal I reckon there's gonna be some Spanish feathers ruffled.

  3. Looks like from that and a different article I saw he'll be CRT next year then prototype the year after. Though I'm not sure what Bautista has done to warrant the prototype for another season.

  4. I guess as long as they give him the right support and not just one year on a factory bike it could be ok, but I personally think he's easily good enough to go straight in to a factory spec ride as MM did.

Ok so the repsol seats aren't available, but maybe its a long term game plan as it sounds like HRC are really supporting the move so perhaps they see a future team of him and MM? Who knows, maybe a one year extension for Dani and then two young bloods leading the way?

  5. Being born Spanish was enough.

  6. Isn't that the truth.

im getting a bit fed up with it to be honest.

i like paella, but not every night for tea...... Well actually I probably could, but that's not the point. :)

  7. Yep CRT next then full fat year after. Being lined up for great things....he'll be Espagaro next year, run away with the CRT title and be fighting Cal on that Ducati ;)

  8. Crutclow, smith, redding, laverty? 4 brits in the top class...when was the last time that happened

  9. Customer Honda for Redding... The CRT class is effectively dead next year. Redding will get more engines, Dorna ECU, standard valve springs should be competitive I think.

Great move for him, probably better than Cal's!

  10. Not sure Laverty has had his seat confirmed, but he certainly doesn't deserve to loose it. I think its somewhat dependant on what Shakey wants to do

  11. To be honest if I was laverty I'd look elsewhere because Paul Bird is not a nice guy and he'll dump him at any stage.

Didn't anybody see the interview on bsb at the weekend?

  12. Theres also an interesting interview with James Ellison on crash.net and the relationship with Birdie, I wouldn't be able to work for him that's for sure!

  13. This one? - James Ellison - Q&A | Page 1 | BSB Interview | Jul 2013 | Crash.Net

JE actually comes across really well in this and sounds like he's had a rough ride.

Paul Bird sounds just like my last employer, all pie crust promises and carrot dangling, in a nutshell he sounds like a right prick.

Shakey must have something on him ;)

IF Alex Lowes has signed with him for next year (as Paul Bird was trying to suggest live on air, just sneakily not directly saying it) then I think he's a fool.

  14. great to see redding in the premier class. i honestly thought he would have moved along with Marquez last year, but better late than never. i think he is worthy of a full factory ride, but there just arent enough teams.
im keeping my fingers crossed for him next season..running the gresini bike will most likely have him rubbing shoulders with Cal (who will be circulating between 5th and 8th if the Desmosedici maintains its current form).

  15. Should be interesting next year, can't wait to see what sort of pace Scott's bike will be running the extra fuel aloud and extra engines over the season should help on race day, at the end of the day it will all come down to how competitive honda want it to be I think they would love there privateer bike to be able to beat factory ducatis but they will make sure it won't worry Marquez and pedrosa.

  16. up to Repsol in 2015 if he does well on the customer and DP buckles under MM and JL?

  17. And hopefully he will go there as world Moto 2 champ :upyeah:

  18. Saw the Bird interview. That ginger bloke really isnt very good at interviewing, is he. Clearly lined up so Bird cold make those comments. Reckon Shakey may well go to MGP but not sure Laverty would be too worried about not riding a bike that is so far behind. Sure he'll get a ride somewhere else, although not MGP. Is it better to be nearly last in MGP than running top 5 in WSBK or BSB?!
