Very random post , but might be of use to someone ..I had a large block driveway laid back in 2016, yes it was laid correctly, quality weed ban used etc etc, but weeds growing between the blocks has been a problem, all the shop bought weed killers are rubbish these days, they hold back growth for a week or so tops, a friend recommended Gallup XL ( contains Glyphosate, so caution needed when using it ) a month or so ago, I can also highly recommend it ! Comes in a 5 litre container, 100ml to 5 litres of water mix ratio Anyway, very random post, but maybe of use to someone as I said.
Blimey, if 360 glyphosate is worth that much on eBay, I may as well sell ours rather than use it on the farm, I've just had 1500 litres delivered. But would agree, the stuff in shops is
Beats paying £10 for 500ml of shop bought rubbish, the 5 litres of Gallup should last me a couple of years at least, so well worth the price in my book
I brush salt into my block paving. Keeps weeds at bay for a month or so, dependant on how much rain we get. But I’ll give this stuff a try.
Random, but welcomed. I tried roundup, and nothing changed at all. It can't even kill it for a week. Every few months I take a strimmer to it, to shave the excess off, but very frustrating to say the least, so I will happily take the recommendation, thank you!
i got "the real deal" on Ebay a few years ago, 5 litres also. This was for leylandii and it worked a treat. When i read the caution notes i was surprised that i could get it through the post.

Garden flame thrower. Best is x300 plenty second hand on ebay. I do my block drive at the start of the year, then 3 weeks later as the sap rises. That’s it for the summer. Bit of a fiddle to light up, just like an old paraffin blow lamp. You soon get used to it, certainly does the job. There are some vids on it in use on the net. I wouldn’t be without mine now!
Love a weed killer thread. For problematic moss I found Wet and Forget works really well. Two applications a year keeps the nasty green stuff at bay. Bought from Costco

now that x300 flame weeder looks like a monster ! We have a 100m long shaded drive and continually struggle with moss. Tried so many weed killers sprayed over, doesnt last long. Time to give it a bit of a toasting Any tips for dealing with moss on a tiled roof ?
Don't know about tiled roof but I pressure washed the moss off my summer House felt roof then sprayed it with a solution of "milton" ( the stuff they use to sterilise babies bottles). The moss has never come back
Glyphosphate is evil stuff, carcinogenic and banned for home use in much of the rest of Europe. Be very careful how you use it. Ive just used an acetic acid mix from Jennychem and the results have been excellent and its much safer to use.
I use this on the farm. At the correct application rate you have enough there to do about 25 acres! Quite strangely as a farmer I need a license to buy it. As a member of the public I imagine you just bought it without the requirement for any legal documentation to prove you are qualified to use it. Funny old world.
Yes I agree , it’s wrong really I can just click ‘buy it now ‘ and get it delivered to my door, glad I can though as anything shop bought is expensive & a waste of time & money.
