V4 V4 Essential Mods?

  1. Hi Rather the the Evotech hand guards look at installing the hand guards fitted to the Multi GT. They are great and protect your hands better than the standard ones on the V4s. Note though the Evotech hand guard do not fit around the GT handguards. I know from removing the Evothech handguardgs fitting the new GT handguards and trying to re fit the Evotech handguards. They do not align. Also fitting the GT airscoops is a good addition. These are fitted with flaps to prevent rain hitting your shins. If these are fitted do not purchase the Evotech crash bobins. When fitted they prevent the flaps on the left hand side of the bike from shutting. Again Evotech do not mention this. Good luck with the new bike.

  2. Thanks , so the V4S Essential does not have the movable air flaps only the GT ?
I recall the Salesman ( nice lad ) saying "you can tell its a 2024 bike it's got the adjustable flaps"
    I didn't look!!

  3. agreed thought all new ones have. my RS has anyway

  4. The moveable flaps on all the Multistradas fitted with that arrangement were supposed to be a standard fit from the 2024 model year. My V4 Pikes Peak built in October ‘23 came with the flaps. It’s a pretty cheap job to retrofit, the instructions are somewhere on here. Andy

  5. A 2024 V4S should have the flaps factory fitted, if not then the dealer should fit them - FoC.

  6. I do both , the Street fighter is a great bit of kit but on the back roads it’s a bit harsh as the Multi just eats up the great broken roads we seem to have now , the Street Fighter is more suited for good smooth roads which now are so over policed it’s a waste , fun track bike mind .

  7. Anyone fitted screen protector to TFT , is Speed Angels the best ?

  8. yes, I went with the nano glass from Speed Angels, fitted great.

  9. They did a twin pack, 1 x Anti Glare & 1 x Ultra Clear so went with that ..

Collecting bike on 3rd Sept, super excited and massive thanks to everyone who posted & advised, very helpful & informative.

  10. One great mod , M9rr , changes the whole concept of the Multi , won’t last long but the difference in the way the bike feels is incredible. I use Conti TA3 at the moment as these give you great feel and and reasonable mileage and out performs the similar tyres , M9rr , different all together, once back from Spain in 3 weeks will be running the M9rr again as they feel that good but unfortunately cannot arrange a rear tyre change in Spain with the days planned as only day off ( loop day ) is a Sunday ,,, Have found a chap in Andorra that will order and stock tyres now for our next tour .

  11. I run M9RR's on my 1260 and swear by them. Best tyre I've put on the multi by far, and I've had 3 Multi's and tried a number of tyres.

  12. Thanks guys, I didn't get on with the Pirelli Scorpions on my 950s Multi they gave a vague feeling from the front, swapped them out for Michelin Road 6's , they did inspire a little more confidence but it wasn't night & day which is what i was hoping for, I'll be sure to order some M9RR's in the future and see how I get on.

  13. Of those, the only one I’d count as “essential” is the rad/oil guards. The rest are purely optional ImHo…

  14. I added the flaps to my 22 V4s in the hope they might reduce the amount of crap the bike sprays all over me on wet/dirty roads.

I can confirm that they make precisely zero difference to anything…

  17. Very small amount of money and it was worth it at the top of a Col when it was raining and 3 degrees IMHO

  18. Yesterday I rode my 22 V4S in, at times heavy rain from Wiltshire to Antwerp, my Klim suit did an acceptable job of keeping me dry. A car would have been the only option to keep me dry. I won’t be bothering with retro fitting flaps.
