True he is doing amazing stuff on a bike that was third tier last year. But he has the speed, that’s what he was missing, and the factory have clearly pumped lots of effort in developing it over the last few years. So his power disadvantage has been nulled. Alvero had his physical advantage. He doesn’t have those of long levers like toprak and probably the associated strength to brake like he does and move the bike like he does. And that’s been taken away. Toprak is doing an amazing job. I just fear by taking any advantage the next best rider as they have made it a one horse race. And no fan wants that
VDM seems to be going ok too. And remember BMW is one of the bikes to have in every super stock class there is
I don’t think so. I think he makes the difference and the bike is getting the power down better generally this year. Re this weekend and Bradders posts. The last race was the one true ‘race’ in about 13. Because TR hindered himself by knocking a wing off (or other unknown factor).
Here’s the easy solution… Now it has been proven that the BMW has improved and Toprak can ride it extremely well, get rid of the minimum weight rule. Then Bautista, who I believe is the only rider affected by this rule, will be able to ride the V4 properly again, which will mean the racing will be closer again. I mean, he’s a hundred or so points behind Toprak so is unlikely to win the championship but at least he will be able to have a go.
Ha there’s always a bit of whataboutery isnt there. Literally no one would have expected Toprak to do what hes done but what do you do now, get rid of the minimum weight rule after it took like 3 years to get it agreed? It’s not like it’s a rule that doesn’t exist in other motorsports either.
