1260 Caliper Piston And Seal Kit

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by freshage, Aug 6, 2024.

  1. Trying to find a part number or listing but it seems my Google fu isn't as good as it used to be, does anyone know for the brembo calipers on the 1260 S?

  2. Can this help?

Note: I can't find within that the Caliper Piston And Seal Kit is listed separately.
    Notwithstanding, I found this:

  3. Don’t kid yourself that it will stop the brakes from dragging.

  4. Haha, it's my last resort. I've tried everything besides replacing and rebuilding the calipers. I have narrowed it down to it being the left disc that drags most. I'm also convinced that's why the bike wonders to the left on its own.

  5. You can just check this with pushing the pistons back, and go for a ride without pressing the front brake until you test it.... dont kill yourself!!

  6. I have used this retailer, https://www.bikehps.com/acatalog/Brembo-Spares.html#a68935, and was happy with their service. Andy

  7. I seem to be having the same problem, I replaced my pads a few months ago and at the same time removed the seals and pistons as was upgrading the brake fluid so gave it all a good clean and after refitting left side was covered in brake dust and you could feel and hear it dragging
Yesterday I replaced the seals in the left side caliper and it's definitely better

  8. I've now got a problem under hard braking that causes a squeak/vibration when heavy braking which is only evident when the bike is almost at a stop. If new seals don't fix it, my next option is to fully replace the braking system which is an upgrade I'll be getting done eventually anyway.

  9. I came back k drom my euro trip last year and m

I replaced my disks with brembo serie oro and that cured judder under braking :upyeah:

  10. Have a very close look at the offending disc for the smallest of surface degradation or slight pitting caused by wet pads sitting in one spot for while. Some hard riding sometimes sorts this. At 55000miles I'm on the 3rd set of discs for this very reason. My only bike that's ever done this.
