My pals 2006 Fire blade has hazards and it has always confounded me why you would need them on a bike - however, his don't come on by accident.
I always use them when I'm not sure if I want the left or right turn at junctions ahead................ Useful for first roundabout off the ferry too. Seriously...nice to have when the traffic ahead has suddenly slowed and the dozy driver behind needs waking up before he ploughs into the back of you. Not always effective, but worth a try.

Not surprised.....I'm convinced all 2013 Mutleys have the problem (I don't know but may be those without Skyhook avoid the issue having different software?). I said I would report back after my 600ml service, unfortunately nothing much to say really. Dealer did the 15 lefts and accepted there was an issue, but couldn't do anything about it as my bike has the latest software update available, they said they would report it to Ducati, but dealer wasn't very keen to agree with me that it was a safety issue. They said I was the first customer they've had that's reported the problem. It obviously depends on rider circumstances as to whether you experience the problem, need to be doing fairly long runs without switching off to get to your 15th left indicate, and even then you might not notice. My wife rides (Daytona675) too and is often following so she lets me know when it happens. Looks like we'll just have to put up with it until Ducati get their act together.....just keep counting those left turns and pull over, switch off and have a bum break after the 14th.....what's the problem.
I was bored waiting for someone to turn up so tried this out:- 2013 MTS Touring Skyhook - 8900m since March. 1st attempt on 22nd left turn it went straight to hazards 2nd attempt on 18th left turn it again went directly to hazards. Can anyone tell me where there are 22 or 18 consecutive left turns on one ride? It would be a case of "have I been here before?" surely! Am I bovered? Not really.
Next time you get REALLY bored try throwing in a load of right turns too! They don't have to be consecutive lefts, just use enough lefts during a ride without switching off and you'll get a false hazard (although you might not always notice it). .............not that you're bovered.
Hi guys I have a gt and had the hazards come on a couple times, did 750 miles over 2 day didn't get it once.
Hi Triple trouble. Just joined after getting my bike at end of June. Brand new. My mate pointed it out to me the other week. I thought I too had been resting my finger on switch too long......but no mine has this fault every 10th time.
You get all the extras on the GT!!!...... I have to wait till about the 15th left on my S Touring 2013. May be Ducati will tell us it's a feature rather than a problem, good game trying to remember how many lefts you've done then looking out for the double arrows to see how quick you can cancel it before confusing all around.
Yep, Just returned from Germany and yes the Hazards caught me out and switched on a number of times, mine is a March 2013 S Touring model, there is obviously something fundamentally wrong with some, if not most 2013 models where the electronics controlling the Hazards are not operating as they should, hope no one is caught out big time and has an accident because of this.
Are Ducati even aware of it ? Most here are reporting it to dealers who seem to then advise its the first they have heard of it, so presumably treating it as an isolated case and attempting a local fix ?
Well guys its not just the s model it happens too. I have the abs 2013 model and it happened to me indicating to come off the motorway today and the car behind me moved into the middle lane thinking I had a problem. But there was a car in the middle lane already. Very nearly coursed an accident. Not good!
Happened to me in France but not since. Looks like it is a question of how many left turns/overtaking manoeuvres are made. Anyone checked out US/Continental forums to see if the issue has been raised?
