This time doing a 10,000 mile ride from Scotland to London…. https://www.rideapart.com/news/730064/new-long-way-series/
They should just ride down the M1 as there are so many stretches where average speed limits are in place that it will feel like a 10,000 mile trip.
Spoiler alert, https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...ted-driving-bright-yellow-VW-Beetle-town.html. Andy
I heard that they plotted the route taking into account all the roadworks and detours currently in place.
Cant not like Rentboy/Anakin but Charlie Boreoff can bore off imo. Its the public schoolboy accent (akin to Henry Cole) that makes my teeth itch. Each to their own of course.
Apparently Ewan on his 1974 Moto Guzzi Eldorado (64HP, 705lbs!) ex police bike (presumably the force will be with him) complete with rear wheel friction siren, and Charlie Boorman on a BMW R75/5 (50HP, 462lbs!), so presumably a similar ULEZ exempt vintage. Cleaning the points with paper from a fag packet, batteries the size of a modern starter home, tyres that would look weedy on a modern mountain bike, interesting brakes, etc, Whats not to like!
There are some miserable old buggers on here. I'm looking forward to it; it'll be a refreshing change from the usual tripe on the TV.
I don’t enjoy the same sort of “entertainment” as you and it would appear a number of others don’t either. I will however agree that much of the terrestrial TV today is utter tripe. Andy
Got to love an old loop frame Guzzi though! Friction sirens no longer available due to H&S and litigation, apparently they can cut your finger clean off if you stick it in the siren when it's spinning. No doubt those side stands are no longer allowed as they have trip hazard written all over them.
Then don't stick your finger in it? Just a suggestion..... A mesh screen would also save the digits of the dim and the fingers of the foolhardy.
Nice one, will try to watch somehow. Probably going to sail the high seas, as I don't fancy yet another subscription, let alone apple one at that. But very much enjoyed the 3 trips they have done so far. Although the last two were nowhere near as good as the first.
